I'm a bad boy...
I'm a bad boy...
Progress report:
M7 needs more time!
Remember how there was no progress in week 1 and 2 of round 1 (Actually 2 weeks each, so a month of lost development time!)? Well, it is beginning to show.
I had great progress yesterday, and M7 is much nicer as a result. Still, there are some bugs which have not been worked out, and there are still new areas which have not been updated to the look of the rest of the map. Unfortunately, I have little time this weekend to do it, and I am packed too full in the following weeks to fit it in. Here are some options:
- Another mapper picks up and finishes M7. They can start tomorrow and work though gameplay week.
- I keep M7 during gameplay week. Another author build the web page.
- I can try to do both, but if I can not complete it then the release date will need to be pushed back.
I have a strong interest in doing both the page and the map, so would prefer the final option. It would allow more beta test time, which I think we should probably have. If you give me this time, I can assure you that I will not slack off!

Well, to be honest I also think so... the big question is, if I am interested to work the next week all day and night on DETAIL and GAMEPLAY because I hadn't any time for that in this week... I could do it, but it is kinda... well, hard to keep interest in mapping 24/7
Another solution: We keep the dates of round 3 and after round 3 and first betatest we will set up a very short round 4 of one or two weeks if it is really necassary!

I believe instead of having a group of people working on different maps I think each map should be handed to separate mappers, so they can work on them until it's final, so we can avoid stupid situations like:
X gets maps on Monday, but he's busy, Y is free
Y gets maps on Tuesday, but he's busy, X is free on Tuesday
but they didn't expect such a turn of plans... o_O
I think it would be better if X worked whole time on one map and Y whole time on another map.
Then I think if each senior member of the project (the ones who worked from beginning to end) should tweak the gameplay, but the gameplay tweakage will mostly rely on Beta testing. We need to hire Beta Testers.
Just a humble opinion.
