Also, yeah, the Denton influence was completely unintentional but very seriously apparent. Damn my subconscious.
[SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Just a stylistic decision from a while back. "Canonically," PsyGuy's weapon of choice is the shotgun, while PsyGirl uses the pistols. This will eventually be reflected in the title screen art, once that somehow gets around to being done.

Okay.

Offsets are weird again, but it won't look so funky in-game. Might need to edit the shoulder on one frame and the gun's not right yet, but hell, progress.
Too bad I still have six more walking rotations to do. >_<

lol, Psyguy is dancing. Chicken dance?
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Looks good to me. Spriting can be a real pain. Good to see you are sticking with it and coming up with something good too.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Hey, you could always cop-out like id did and only do 5 rotations instead of 8.Xaser wrote:Too bad I still have six more walking rotations to do. >_<
But you mentioned that character's preferred weapon is the shotgun IIRC, so perhaps you could modify it to use the shotgun instead? Would fix the left hand issue.

Psychic's shotgun is used one-handed.Sodaholic wrote:But you mentioned that character's preferred weapon is the shotgun IIRC, so perhaps you could modify it to use the shotgun instead? Would fix the left hand issue.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Oh. Well, I know the Marine Skins wad has some doomguy sprites (holding a pistol) with the arm down. I'm using those in TSAT currently, they're quite nice, really.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Redid my earlier marine edits, so there's no anti-aliasing now. I reckon when I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

The first sheet was tacked together a tad more logically than the other. Sorry about that. I also started throwing together some concept frames for edits of the shotgun marine...

And I've come to notice that we have partially robotic versions of pinkies and barons, but no imp, so I stitched this up earlier today, just to see what it'd look like...

Can't really say I'm too happy with the way it turned out, though. I'm not skilled enough to replace entire limbs like the other edits do, so the changes I make would be subtle, at best.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
If you make the firing frames, will he be holding the pistol with 2 hands instead of 1 and having the other arm all stiff? You might as well add blood to the arm so it would atleast look more real that he's wounded and can't use it....Xaser wrote:Okay.

I've always thought his raised arm is fine. Hanging limp looks highly derpy, besides the work involved in changing it at all. I say continue the set as-is.

Whoa, that's actually a good start for creating a Cyberimp.Globe wrote:And I've come to notice that we have partially robotic versions of pinkies and barons, but no imp, so I stitched this up earlier today, just to see what it'd look like...

Progress.

Hmm, at this rate, I might actually finish eventually. Maybe I should stop spoiling the whole set...
