Re: Doom Builder 2 thread
I. Love. DB2.
Holy crap this is fantastic. I've been using it for a couple weeks now and although I know the risks of using an alpha/beta, I just simply can't see myself going back to DB1. DB2 is so much more comprehensive and useful than its predecessor!
The only thing I would want more with it, is some kind of internal pk3 browser or support for pk3 archives, which would make working on big zdoom projects a zillion times more manageable.
I noticed that Pascal just launched the Doombuilder website, so I'm assuming that an official release is just around the corner? I'm excited!

Is there a Heretic ZDoom config that has GZDoom stuff in it?

It isn't ready but you can download the latest SVN to test it.DB website wrote:Doom Builder 2 is available for download soon.

Re: Doom Builder 2 thread
I do not recommend doing that. Those custom builds do not have an installer which makes it a bitch to get them to work (you have to install other packages manually or whine that it doesn't run). Just wait a week or two; I don't think it will take much longer than that for DB2 to be released.Tubers wrote:It isn't ready but you can download the latest SVN to test it.
About the website; I just put in news items that work through Twitter. So you can now also track the news using twitter. Just see the bar on the right. Twitter also supports RSS, so you can be notified instantly when there is something new.

Oh wow, thanks. I cannot get DB2 working at the moment. It seems the .NET framework doesn't install properly, or at all.CodeImp wrote:I do not recommend doing that. @jimmy:
Here are the files in the setup folder from the SVN. I installed all of them and DB2 works now.

Re: Doom Builder 2 thread
Yeah, I already tried the latest SVN that Stealth compiled (1010) and have been using it for a couple weeks. Hence why I said I loved it in the first sentence.Tubers wrote:Nomad wrote:I noticed that Pascal just launched the Doombuilder website, so I'm assuming that an official release is just around the corner? @carlcyber: Sorry mate, that didn't work for me. Is there a specific order to install them in? I even completely reinstalled SlimDX and I still get the "DB2 has encountered an error" message on start-up.

Re: Doom Builder 2 thread
me too, I think it's the .net though...
Re: Doom Builder 2 thread
If you're using Windows XP, send me this file: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Doom Builder\Builder.log
If you're using Windows Vista/7, send me this file: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Doom Builder\Builder.log
Note that "Username" is your windows account name. If that file doesn't exist, then it means DB didn't even get a chance to start. Which probably means that your .NET Framework installation is messed up.
Also, post your system specifications please; CPU type, Platform type (x64?), Videocard.

Sweet, thanks.Gez wrote:Yes.

Thanks for the PM.
I have extensively tested DB2 and its setup installer on similar platforms today and it all worked fine. I think the problems are the use of custom builds and the lack of an installer. Just wait a week or two for the official release.

Re: Doom Builder 2 thread
I want an official release, with all those extra features!!!! Whatever build I try to open after downloading it immediately crashes... why is that?

Re: Doom Builder 2 thread
Delete everything in your Doom Builder 2 directory. Delete all the content of If C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Doom Builder (XP) or C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Doom Builder (Vista). Then install a build (from here) anew.CodenniumRed wrote:I want an official release, with all those extra features!!!! I had the same issue and this is simply how I solved it.
