[FORUM] Suggestion: Losering
If another moderator is the answer, then surely someone outside of the North American timezone would be a sensible option, or perhaps someone who is on more regularly to catch a lot of problems that the current mods don't before things escalate.
I don't agree with that however. I believe the answer is for the current mods to take more action, and to act faster than they do now. I do, however, understand that they have reservations to do so for a number of reasons which makes moderating a tough job. Again, I believe the losering feature would help in this respect, at least in regards to a couple of reasons that force the mods to hesitate.
It's not too harsh and gives people a chance to redeem themselves while at the same time reducing the chances of these forums becoming thigh deep in garbage and appeasing those who want to see discipline being dealt out to those "members" who refuse to act in an appropriate manner.
Think of it as a time-out or "cooling down" period for people who are poorly behaved.

As much as I respect WildWeasel, I'm going to have to agree with Sir_Alien on the timezone issue. However, I don't agree that scricter moderating is the only answer: It's only part of the answer. As things stand, there are several hours per day where the forums are left completely unmoderated and as a result, a substantial flamewar or a large amount of idiodicy can occur during that time periods.
However, I do agree that scricter moderating is needed as well. Right now, we can get people being rampantly idiotic before the mods appear to take action against them. Though it's true that we can't see behind the scenes in the staff forum and other peoples PM's, it can get frustrating when someone, like KingOfFlames for example, gets to be very annoying and nothing appears to be done about it. Either better communication from the mods or more visible action would be more ideal in this case. (Even if it's more cases of the mods saying to idiots in public threads "You're being an idiot. Stop it!" because then we'll at least see that the mods are planning to do something about it and there may also be the slim chance of someone reforming after this.

I second this.jallamann wrote:Cheap, you're not getting into a position like moderator here because of your attitude and personality. The owners of Ravengames must be pretty barking mad to appoint you admin, or at least seem mad from everyone's eyes.
Corwin is perfect for a moderator because of his personality. Humble and cool. He'd make a very justice-full moderator in my eyes.
If someone outside the american timezone, then it's no one else but Enjay!
Also Bio, I was going to ask you delete the banana post. I was drunken when I posted that. Stupid

Internet regularity isn't the only factor, I'm on here a lot too, but you wouldn't vote me in for moderator.
I think the best kind of person for a moderator is somebody who's not only on frequently, but is also a good person to have about on here and can handle the responsibilities with the right sort of attitude. Sounds like WW's a good candidate to me.
