Re: [WIP] Doom 2 From Memory (v4)
I feel slightly bad for bumping my own post, but I updated the OP with a new version containing my take on Map03. Here's the link for those that don't wanna scroll up . I also made minor adjustments to both Map01 and Map02. Here's a couple of screenshots of Map03 http://i.imgur.com/aXHD0L8.png http ...

Re: [First Map] Prison Break Version 1
Well, it's certainly not the best, but I see some potential! The jail bars at the beginning are a little ugly due to not being see-through. Possible ways to solve that would be to add multiple sectors with the same tag similar to how the red key door in vanilla doom 2's map02 is done, or by doing ...

Re: [forum]Limit to avatar size
Using GIMP (or any similar program) to change the png into an indexed image works great for reducing file sizes as well. (Image > Mode > Indexed...) The maximum number of colors can also be reduced to reduce file size. Color dithering can help with the quality, but in some cases it just looks ugly ...

Re: [Engine] GLOOME / [WIP] Project 67 & Nocturne in Yellow
I got around to downloading and compiling it. I've noticed that the default midi device is fmod, even though it results in no music from midis. Is that intentional or did I compile it wrong? Also, is there any reason why the resolution doesn't default to the native resolution or windowed? I know ...

Re: Couple of simple "mutators"
All of the mutators are pretty great, nice job. Though the snailbullet mutator makes some of the enemies a little too inaccurate Iya73G6ZqrI Also, chaingun zombies with the snailbullet mutator seem to have a really wide weapon spread, as their bullets seem to hit the walls way too often in most ...

Re: Replacing lines for "Other" gender
I did a quick check myself, and the original idea of changing the default it/its pronouns for the "other" gender to they/them pronouns is entirely possible for anyone who can modify and compile the source code. In P_Interaction.cpp, line 129 should be able to be changed from { "it", "it", "its" } to ...

Re: How big are your Doom collections?
My DOOMWADS folder is 4.43 GB, 1612 files and 23 folders. Excluding IWADs, it's 4.16 GB.
I also have 1.52 MB of DOOM music, and it's all midis.
My entire C:\DOOM directory is 4.54 GB

Re: [WIP] Doom 2 From Memory
Strange, I cannot seem to open the rocket launcher room in Map01.. Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. I just got a little sidetracked, and didn't realize the ledge near the lift either. My bad I went ahead and made the ledge a tad bit larger and tweaked a couple of things in Map02, the new version ...

Re: [WIP] Hunter's Moon V2.6.4 (Demo Map Released!)
I tried the demo map and all I can say is just... Wow. It feels like quake 3 and it looks like quake 3. I kept trying to bunnyhop every couple of minutes because I forgot that it's not quake 3. I can't believe it's not quake 3! The huge amount of enemies and the size of some of them made for rather ...

Re: New Member Introductions
Eh, I've made a handful of posts so far, so I figured, "Hey! Why not ramble about my story with DOOM along with talking a little bit about myself?" My first experience with DOOM was DOOM 64 on the Nintendo 64, I remember it scaring me to the point where I had nightmares for a couple of weeks after ...

Re: Doom 2 From Memory
I finished Map02, uploaded it to dropbox, and updated the original post with the link. Here's the link for those that don't want to scroll up. It doesn't include deathmatch spawns, so keep it away from deathmatch for now. I also fixed the issue with the sky of Map01 that was easily seen in ZDoom ...

Re: Doom 2 From Memory
I really like the concept you've got here; it sounds like it could make for a very nostalgic experience (and a potentially hilarious one if you're memory isn't too accurate on some of the levels). :D Yeah, thanks. I will admit that my memory can be pretty bad most of the time, so my guess is that ...

*Working title! JeXjP9wdUPk Current progress: 3/32 Here's the current download (Hosted on dropbox, the wad should be about 584 KB) This will be 32 map wad that attempts to recreate all of the maps of Doom 2 from my own personal memory, with a couple of tiny adjustments to the map's designs to take ...
