Contrary to popular belief, we are not all-knowing-all-seeing magical beings!

If you want help you're going to have to provide lots of info. Like what is your hardware, what is your operating system, what version of GZDoom/LZDoom/whatever you're using, what mods you're loading, how you're loading it, what you've already tried for fixing the problem, and anything else that is even remotely relevant to the problem.

We can't magically figure out what it is if you're going to be vague, and if we feel like you're just wasting our time with guessing games we will act like that's what you're really doing and won't help you.

GZDooM stuck at Deathmatch Starts.

Post by ConMan3222 »

Hey there, when playing on the current version of GZDooM, I kept getting a console crash when entering a custom WAD that has no Deathmatch starts. I tried disabling it from the command console and .ini file, but it still does not work. Are there any solutions to my problem?

There is no WAD, it happens every time I launch GZDooM and it still happens no matter what. Again, are there any solutions to this?

Apparently, the engine itself is enabling the "deathmatch" command line parameters at launch, despite the fact that I never input any CMD line params in the first place.

Computer software only does what you tell it to do.

In this case, you are loading something that's causing it to choke up. Maybe it's an autoexec.cfg, maybe your launcher is doing something, or maybe you have something in your autoload. All I can tell you is that you're either you're the only one with this issue or you're not giving me enough information to replicate the problem so that I can fix it. - try reinstalling GZDoom from scratch (back up your old stuff, *DON'T* delete it), and see if you keep getting the issue.

And where could I find the "autoexec.cfg" at? It is not in the main GZDooM directory.

If there is none in the GZDoom directory then chances are there isn't one and therefore it isn't your problem.

At last, I found the solution! I always use ZDL3 for playing DooM stuff, I was not aware that I accidentally switched the Game mode to "AltDeathmatch", now I turned it back to "Singleplayer". Problem solved!
