Beginner at mapping.
I need some good tutorials, I can't find any that are easy to start with. Or better yet, can someone here make a quick tutorial? Apothem said DeepSea had a built in tutorial but I can't find it.
First things first. How old are you? I ask for a couple reasons. One: mapping can take a LOT of time, and if you work 40 hr weeks and have a social life, it's gonna take you months to create just a little map.
Two: if you're under 14, your cognitive and reasoning skills might not qualify you for excelling in mappage err sorry mapping (Wayne's World strikes again!) If your imaginative skills aren't great, your maps are going to look like SLIGE garbage.
Now, if you really want to get started, I recommend the latest edition of Doombuilder (there's a nice tutorial w/ it). Or if you want to play it *scratchez record* OLLLLLLD SKOOOOOOOOOO you can download DEU 5.21 (my first editor--nice Vanilla Doom 1 mapping ability)
but
Okay just do DBldr.

Age isn't always a problem...
I was only 12 when I wrote around 600 lines of code to set up a voting system in multiplayer for the next level, a 5 minute real-time timer til the level ends, and it wasn't a HUD timer, but there were number textures on the level and all, with a interactive camera system while you wait for everyone to vote, with level preview screens and music, and it was extremely and easily customizable by just changing a few of the #Define strings. It also had a system to control new weapons spawning on the level and a special ammo HUD that I never finished, loosely based on the few lines of code that I started off of a wad with a bunch of new guns.
But then again, my mapping sucked
