Hi,
I would like to play good old Vanilla Doom with High Res graphics.
I have been directed to DHTP :
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/k67 ... index.html
there I have downloaded this file :
https://mega.co.nz/#!lxBxkADa!-L2w8Ngvj ... XhOSJi7n3U
zdoom-dhtp-20150723.pk3 (~214 MB)
I put this file in latest version zdoom folder with some vanilla doom wads (1,2,plutonia, tnt)
And there I am lost. How do I load the DHTP, how can I be sure it is actually being used ?

Re: DHTP (DOOM high resolution texture pack) usage
You can drag-drop the zdoom-dhtp-20150723.pk3 file onto the ZDoom program icon, and it will load automatically. That's pretty much how you load any mod. you could also use a loader like ZDL to make a list of files to load (for multiple mods) or use the command line ("zoom -file zdoom-dhtp-20150723.pk3").
As for making sure it's being used... Just look at the textures!
It should be pretty obvious if it's working. Keep in mind this is ONLY TEXTURES, no one's yet come out with a decent high-res SPRITE pack for enemies.

oh I see
Obviously I was expecting Hi Res SPRITES, and /me puzzled by the amount of blurred squarred big pixels.

Re: DHTP (DOOM high resolution texture pack) usage
There has been some attempts at high res sprites but none of them look decent to my knowledge. I would suggest using Smooth Doom instead, which greatly improves the animation of weapons and monsters rather than increase sprite resolution.
