Tutorial Request: ANIMDEFS

Er, sorry if this is misplaced. I wasn't exactly sure where else to put this. All I know for sure is that it's ZDoom-related.

I cannot make heads or tails of the ZDoom wiki page explanation of the ANIMDEFS lump. I would like to request a tutorial regarding ANIMDEFS, specifically regarding how to set up animations for both flats and sprites.
