I've been wanting to correct my monitors so that they look as close to each other as possible but one thing that keeps getting in my way is that talk about gamma. Reading up on it gave me the understanding of why 128 should not be half brightness according to photo standards, but attempting to adjust some of my devices makes them FAR too dark. Basically, should I just go with a 1.8 setting instead of a 2.2 to better match to a tablet that... ultimately seems to be happy with a Gamma of 1.2?
Perhaps a camera shot of my computer setup, if it can capture all the weird going on with these screens might help.

Re: Let's talk about Gamma
Gonna bump only to ask - are your Brightness settings in both of your machines the same? My only suggestion is to just experiment with your other device until it somewhat matches your first device.

Re: Let's talk about Gamma
I specifically toyed with the gamma while making sure the brightness and contrast were fine tuned enough for me to see differences in black and white shades. But i might as well toy with other gamma settings until I find something comfortable for me.

I read "Let's talk about grandma".
I was gonna say "she's a lovely old lady who gives me icecream for my bday"
