Space Warriors (A noob "just for fun" W.I.P.)

Post by KuroTsuki »

Well..as i said in the title i just started making wads.
so...to have better practice i think should be better starting a little project where i will use each thing i learn in for example the next weapon or enemy i make.
Here some Screenies :) (12 Pictures)
Spoiler:
-Fire Switch: 80% (Still need to fix the "switch insert" part, the transformation sequence and Limit Break)
Spoiler:
-Beat Switch: 0%
no information yet.

-Drill Switch: 90% (not finished cuz id like to make the player to not move while attacking...and maybe an Alternative attack)
Spoiler:
-Scissors Switch: 0%
no information yet

-Custom HUD: 0%

The weapons will be set in the slots 1, 2, 3 and 4 (The Fire gun in the slot 1, Beat 2, the drill in the slot 3 and Scissors in 4)
Still need to make Beat and Scissors.

ill upload a video when i completed the Fire Switch, and Release it when i made all i named above with their respective sounds so you can test it and tell if i did a good work.

EDIT:
Im Restarting the Wad from 0.
but i still keep the code

Weapons:
Rocket Switch : 50% (Need the sprites, will be fast)
Launcher Switch : 0%
Drill Switch : 10% (need better Sprites)
Radar Switch : 0%
Custom HUD : 0%

The weapons will be set in the slots 1, 2, 3 and 4 (Rocket slot 1,Launcher 2, Drill in the slot 3 and Radar in 4)

That's a specific limitation of the forum - you are limited to five spoiler tags in one post. This was done to prevent people abusing them by nesting them within each other to irritate others.

One solution is to just put more than one image into a spoiler tag.

I'm a bit of a Kamen Rider fan. I never thought I would ever see a Kamen Rider mod for doom :P, and It looks pretty good for your first mod!

Thank you...i hope more people make wads of this cuz...ive seen 0 wads of tokusatsu (or maybe i dont know how to find).
i plan to Make the Elek and Magnet (possibly Rocket, but havent seen that movie yet  ) states after i release that first 4 switches.
And when i learn to create classes i plan to make Meteor.
Also...when im more experienced i plan to create a original story and characters based on Kamen Rider.

I don't know how to put this gently, but uh, those weapon graphics are terrible. The second one is passable were this a low-budget Doom clone from 1994, but the first one you have there is a nightmare to look at. Those colors clash so, so much. It looks like you picked the colors by throwing darts at a color wheel. Just so this doesn't come across as me being a total prick, you might want to check out this tutorial. It could be of some use to you as the second gun really could be fairly decent with a bit of improvement.

I liked them quite a bit, myself. They give off a strong EGA vibe I like.

HAHAHAHA...not literaly but you are not wrong.
btw..remember im a beginner and this is just for fun...i dont want to waste a lot of time for someting not serious (also making sprites is one of the hardest parts of making wads)
with this i aim to make beter stuff with mroe experience and yup...i need the critics like yours. when i finish this ill try to be more "serious".
And thanks for the tutorial..i think ill learn a lot from it.

To be fair, Doom's palette is literally a remixed Deluxe Paint palette, with very few variations of certain colors to choose from in interest for lookup table precision

While I agree that the graphics aren't the best, I think the fact that he's making his own instead of shamelessly ripping them makes up for it.
