Multiplayer Hexen
Multiplayer Hexen
Me and my friend have been trying to set up a multiplayer game of hexen(co op) we tried using zdaemon and keep losing connection. we tried usinr the in game multiplayer with no luck either. can some one help us set up a this game?
First off, these boards are for ZDoom, not ZDaemon. ZDaemon is based on an older version of ZDoom that is no longer supported, so we can't really help you with it.
Of course, if you like you can certainly use ZDoom instead. If you want to go that route, just grab the latest version. I'm not familiar with Hexen multiplayer so hopefully somebody else can help you with the command lines you need to use, or point you at a decent launcher if you're not DOS-savvy.

Setting up multiplayer Hexen is really no different than setting up a multiplayer Doom game. See the wiki for more information. It has everything but selecting your class. I think there is a command line parameter for that, but the alternate way about it is to just go into a singleplayer game and choose your class and then quit. When you start up the multiplayer game you should be the last class you chose.

That was it. Thank you. I couldn't remember specifically what it was and a quick look on the wiki page for command line parameters didn't show it (because I suppose, technically it isn't a command line parameter but setting one of the CVARs.)Hobbs wrote:Also, the command line parameter for setting player class is +playerclass [fighter, cleric, mage], as an alternative to going to playersetup.
