I wondered about that too, I find it a rather neat touch that bodies can get thrown across the room by explosions or blasted apart to help relieve stressIs there anyway that you could make it so that the corpses could just be telefragged? that would allow new monsters to spawn in so that the teleport issue would be removed.

I voted, but personally I would want to vote for the removal of both, as both groups of bugs irritate me the most equally.

Re: Brütal Doom v0.18
I voted for squishable gibs, that feature seemed more of a novelty or an annoyance to me anyways.
@Cyberdemon2006: Not all bodies fully gib, like that big pile of meat generated by smaller monsters when you stand on their corpse for long enough don't blow up with rockets or gunfire.

Whichever option leaves little brain bits from headshots sliding down the walls would make me happy.
Crushers crushing bodies? I never see that happen so I wouldn't miss it.
Rev/Mancubus weapons? Eh, I never use em, so I wouldn't miss them.

My vote.*Interactive Bodies* (only gib pieces and mancubus/revenant bodies would be interactive.) - Bodies will no longer be able to be kicked or exploded. (Removing this fixes forever bugs related to monster respawning, teleport blocking, and still allows bodies to be squished)

I actually wouldn't care if both interactive bodies and squishable gibs were removed. If it removes a heap of bugs/glitches, I'm all for it.

Add one more to the Mr. Chris camp. I do like the interactive bodies, but if we are still allowed to cannibalize mancubi and revenants for their guns, then I can live without the interactive bodies or squashable gibs since they don't really affect gameplay otherwise and are primarily cosmetic.

Re: Brütal Doom v0.18
I agree with Mr Chris as well, but if only one can be removed then I'd say the Interactive bodies are more of a game breaker then the squishable Gibs. It is quite annoying to stand around waiting for an enemy to teleport in and not having it come because a body is at its teleport location, especially when said enemy has an event tagged to it.Mr. Chris wrote:I actually wouldn't care if both interactive bodies and squishable gibs were removed. I'm pretty sure it doesn't outright block them from teleporting, I think the one teleporting in simply gets telefragged if on a body. Sure, its a little odd but is that worth removing mutilating bodies? I say its a small price to pay for such awesome, since I've never seen this effect gameplay in any SIGNIFICANT way on any of the maps I've played, and I've done all of the standard doom maps, and other custom ones.doomquake777 wrote:I agree with Mr Chris as well, but if only one can be removed then I'd say the Interactive bodies are more of a game breaker then the squishable Gibs. I think getting rid of interactive bodies would leave quite a hole, since it has been one of the most amazing things in this wad, and removing it now would be an AWFUL shame.

The teleporting bug is major and can break maps. No cosmetic change is worth breaking the game over.mumblemumble wrote:I'm pretty sure it doesn't outright block them from teleporting, I think the one teleporting in simply gets telefragged if on a body. On a side note: Is there a reason why fastmonsters doesn't increase the Demon bite speed? It does in vanilla doom but not on here.

Give me an example of a map that breaks, cause I have NEVER had a map break from it.Rowsol wrote:

Re: Brütal Doom v0.18
Well, to be fair, I had it happen to me in Plutonia 2 map 6, where a cyberdemon was supposed to teleport into the starting room but never did. Granted, it didn't break the map, but it still made it a lot easier than it should have been.Give me an example of a map that breaks, cause I have NEVER had a map break from it.
I love destroyable corpses, but if it has to go, it has to go. There isn't much that can be done about it, unless there's a way to make it so that monsters can just telefrag the corpses.

Re: Brütal Doom v0.18
I have never had ANY problem with brutal doom causing bugs, EVER. Therefore, I have everything to lose and nothing to gain. As usual, I won't be upgrading until 1 year later when there are too many cool things to resist.
