Have you installed SlimDX?Duke Wooze wrote:When I try to run Doom Builder 2 it crashes and a window pops up and says that "Doom Builder has encountered a problem and needs to be closed." It does not give me any specific errors it just says it cannot run. I'm using windows XP Media Edition with the service pack 2 or 3 can't remember which one. Pretty sure its service pack 3 though. Anyone knows what the problem is?

No I haven't installed that. I'm going to go try to find that and see if it works. Thanks man.

You'll also need the .NET framework.

Re: Doom Builder 2 thread
Will Net Framework 3.5 sp1 will work? Because I found two versions of Net Framework 2.0 and 3.5 sp1. I want to make sure I'm getting the right thing.
Re: Doom Builder 2 thread
Get the latest .NET you can and SlimDX. SlimDX fixed the "won't run without any specific reason" problem for a lot of us.

Still having problems with it. I installed SlimDX that didn't work, I just found out that I had the latest version of .Net Framework, so, I don't know what the problem could be. I have SlimDX March 09 Redistributable. Is that the right version? By the way I'm sorry if I'm acting like an idiot.

Well, if you poke around in your control panel, you'll find what service pack you're on... That could be a start.Duke Wooze wrote:Still having problems with it. Did you download a pre-compiled version? If so, from where?Duke Wooze wrote:I looked and I have SP3
Did you compile it yourself and possibly have an error?

Kappes Buur yea that one worked for me. I downloaded the march 2009 version of SlimDX on their website. It was on an installer. I guess I downloaded the wrong thing somehow. Anyway, thanks fellas you have been a real help.

That obviously means that you couldn't.
