People still play Pong more than 40 years after it was created, so why not Doom?printz wrote:I wonder if Doom 1 and 2 will still be played 20 years later.

You forgot the mutant penguin armies ruling the remnants of a defeated humanity. The day will come, mark my words.

Zdoom is a little older than that: try 17 years.
Speaking of anniversaries OA will clock 10 years soon. In 20 years, OA will be 30 years old.

For this topic i would like to see how smart you know about your cars?
For this question want nobody going to no website to look up the answers?
Question: 1
Can you tell me? How many generation corvettes did they make from 1953 to 2015?

Call me a pessimist but I don't really see a living world in twenty years... Considering how bad it is right now and how exponentially worse it gets.

Too true. I see humanity ending in less than a solid 30, with extreme war and violence fully spread around the 20 mark.Ribo Zurai wrote:Call me a pessimist but I don't really see a living world in twenty years... Considering how bad it is right now and how exponentially worse it gets.
Even with that thought in my head, though... I still can't push myself to make a finished game...

Re: 20 years from now?
Boy you're all SO pessimistic. Do you seriously believe that the world as it is today will be over in 20 years ? I mean sure, it'll certainly have changed, and maybe not for the worst mind you, but in 20 years it will most likely be approximately the same as it is today. Don't be so grimmcambertian wrote:Too true. It'll have solar pannels and wind turbines, no cars left (hopefully), better internet connexions, maybe even internet will have been replaced with a new sort of network, even better than the internet. That sort of stuff

That's what I like to think/hope anyway. I know it's ultra-rose-tinted but I can't possibly imagine humanity as a whole disappearing in the near future. This is possible only in movies. Even with three consecutives global nuclear wars humanity would still exist.
