Is Metroid: Other M THAT bad?

If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

For what it's worth, trying to emulate the game on PC using a drawing stylus hasn't worked out so well either. I've always been meaning to find an emulation solution for that problem and I think the best I'm gonna get is the Steam Controller.

Unlike some other people on this thread, I can handle the game just fine without my hands devolving into a mess and I even, dare I say this, found the controls very tight and enjoyable. My problem with the game is it's very repetitive (The bosses just repeat over and over with the same exact escape sequence) and lacks a lot of the finesse that I've come to expect from the franchise. There aren't any real mini-bosses to speak of outside the other bounty hunters (Which, let's face it, is just a promo for the multiplayer) and it, as a whole, feels a lot more shallow than the console Prime games. Perhaps they would have been better served to shelf the FMV sequences (Which only serve to make the in-game graphics look terrible in comparison) and stretched out the single-player with more unique enemies and more beefy puzzles.

Well, the singleplayer wasn't the focus of Hunters obviously, i remember playing alot with some friends of mine in deathmatch and it was really, really fun, it felt like it's own thing, while the MP2 Echoes multiplayer seriously lacked.

Honestly if Federation Force had a multiplayer like that i would've preordered the game already

Who gets Metroid for the multiplayer, though? Unless Nintendo's just trying to copy Halo, now.

My friend actually tried to sell me on the multiplayer when it was new. A shame the single player wasn't all that, because I would have loved to see a MPH2 especially if it ever rebooted Return of Samus like the aforementioned friend always wanted to see.

I dare say that Metroid Prime Hunters was partially what people were afraid Metroid Prime would be, a first person shooter with too much emphasis on action and not enough emphasis on exploration or atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, it's sort of there but it feels shallow, which is a shame because graphically it looks nice, especially by DS standards.

the FMV cutscenes look like garbage, though. i guess they had to save space by compressing the hell out of the videos in the game. i'd still be willing to give the game another chance, but after that boss in the fírst level, i just kind of stopped caring because it would probably be as annoying to play for the rest of the game. at least MP3 had bearable controls by comparison.

Not only do they look compressed but the graphical quality insults the in-game quality. I'm thinking they would have been better served to try to replicate that with the graphics in-game. Sure, it wouldn't have looked as polished but it wouldn't have looked as jarring either.
