Im looking for a Doom64 weapons mod (only the weapons)

Discuss anything ZDoom-related that doesn't fall into one of the other categories.

I found a sprite here its at the bottom of the first page tough you will have to give credit (check both Page 1 and 2 for the authors),also edit the sprite to be the same darker color as the D64 pistol/DE.

'Edit':i've checked and didnt see any other Desert Eagle pick up sprite,so until someone show up with a true D64 pistol pick up sprite,we will have to go with this sprite i suggested.

It's almost done. I'm still not quite satisfied with the Chainsaw. The sounds for it are really screwy and clip over each-other a bit too much. I decided not to add those other guns from the video, I'm sticking to vanilla D64 guns. I made a pistol pickup sprite from that Deagle on that page. Still contemplating how I want to handle the Unmaker upgrades.

I see 3 ways for you.

1-Randomly replace the spheres with the upgrades.

2-Go fully upgraded,tough its quite OP so...i dunno.

3-Make separate wads for each versions of the Unmaker.

Yea I hope to be finally done very soon.

I've decided to make the Unmaker start fully upgraded. I may lower the damage on it some to balance that out. It has a 25% chance to spawn where a BFG would. That may sound like a really high chance, but I tested it a lot and for every nine BFGs I summoned, I'd average about two. The average number of BFGs in the original IWADs is about 13. I did have it to 20% or less but with that low of a percentage, you could possibly never get the Unmaker because you could spawn 10+ BFGs and none would spawn as the Unmaker.

Playing through any IWAD you're going to want to get both, and that percentage ensures you WILL get both with all likelihood. Do note I did manage to not get the Unmaker to spawn even with a 25% chance, so it's still a hit or miss. The only way to ensure you get it would be to edit IWAD maps and place the Unmaker manually in a new location, and include the modified IWAD maps with the WAD but that is not only crossing some legality lines but also seems a bit silly just for a weapon replacement mod.

Right now I'm trying to work out some dynamic lights for the hitscan weapons. Not sure if that can be done easily, but regardless I will be done later today.

Since the Unmaker will start fully upgraded and that's it's quite overpowered it is fine to have it's dmg reduced.

But at least it need to be a bit stronger than the BFG,just a tad bit.

Question for WildWeasel , once Nevander post the completed wad , will this thread stay in general or will it be acceptable for the project section ?

Or will we need to create another thread there ?

Thing is it's not really my work, I just cleaned up the DECORATE, made some small tweaks, and fiddled around with GLDEFS. I mean all my credits are going to be there of course, but I don't know if it's worth making a whole thread over. Was planning on just putting the link in here when I was done.

EDIT: Speaking of which, it's practically done and I'll put the link up in a couple hours.

Well yeah i understand what you mean,but i tought that putting a thread there would make peoples interested in this noticed about it since peoples looking for mods tend to go more in the projects section than the general section.

As for credits,as long as you credits from wich the resources come from then all will be fine.

Sorry for the delay, it IS done but I wanted to get some better quality sounds and make the rocket launcher's explosion from the barrel be translucent like in Doom 64.

I made a thread in the 'projects' section of the forum for the wad,also i tested it and i didnt see any problems so far.

If anyone's interested in an alternative.
Download.
Unmaker and Keys drop from Cyberdemon and Mastermind, depending on the inventory of the player that killed them, this is done by decorate so if another mod is replacing those monsters you wont get the Unmaker.

Would you mind if I stole borrowed that code for dropping the upgrades and put it in mine? I wasn't sure how to do it before but now I get it. I will credit you and anyone else who's work was involved in this. I really like what I came up with but there's some great stuff in here too. Best of both worlds would be super.
