They're not officially out. But I compiled Graf's decorate code into my own exe so people could experiment with it. 2 things:

1 anything is subject to change between now and Randy's next version

2 bug reports from my version are useless to Randy, because the exe files are different. Rename mine to something like wdoom.exe and keep both files, if you want to report bugs.

Its on this page, anyway: http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=4698&start=150

Graf Zahl's example weapon:

Not really. That doesn't say anything about the project other than what that one enemy looks like. Is it for ZDoom or vanilla Doom? you using all new graphics (ie. no Doom2 textures or sprites), sounds, and music? Decorate? Is it hub-based or linear? What kind of mood do you want in each of the levels? What's the story/plot? Where does it take place? What do the levels look like? What do the graphics look like (texture themes)? Is it more adventure or action? Puzzles?

Yes
Decorate?
Why, of course!
Is it hub-based or linear?
Linear
What kind of mood do you want in each of the levels?
Scary but silly
What's the story/plot?
Evil monsters try to kill teens armed with squirt guns and cans of Pepsi
Where does it take place?
Smalltown, MA
What do the levels look like?
Neighborhoods, shopping malls, high schools, etc.
What do the graphics look like (texture themes)?
Low detail, kinda cartoony
Is it more adventure or action?
Action, like a classic shootemup
Puzzles?
Nah.

Ready to work? ^.^

What I'd LOVE to contribute, though, is remixed music in whatever format is desired: midi, it/xm, or mp3/ogg. Mp3/ogg is easiest for me (and definately the highest quality), but it/xm is probably the most realistic option in terms of filesize. Anyway, I'll try to get a small demo done today or in the next few days.
Alright! Can't wait to hear the tracks. Oh yeah , and any of those file types sound good for me (except for mp3).
Ok, cool beans. Ogg it is then, if that's acceptable. One question: can ZDoom set up loop points for ogg? Because if not, that poses the obvious limitation of the intro and outro of the song having to loop seamlessly together, which is not such a big deal really. Just something to keep in mind.

Actually, does the ogg format itself incorporate that functionality? I have no idea, I've never encoded to ogg.

Perhaps once you get enough textures, I'll might try a little mapping. Don't have too much time these days.

Heh, I was just kidding. As much as I'd love to.

Further more, I just changed one of my answers: A hub system would be awesome! If you had to go from level to level by walking the streets killing the undead... ^____^

Never ask for help with a project when there's nothing to show for the project. Everyone will get different ideas about what parts should be like what, and someone's particular skills may not match someone else's (imagine having a really good mapper do one or two levels, and your other mappers only making mediocre levels.. or having superb Lexus music with dull sound effects; consistency in quality is more important than actually having quality). At the very least, have a detailed design document showing off what you want and don't want in the mod so everyone joining will be on the same page.
I will be releasing the sprites wad I have done soon on my website. As for levels, yes they need to be quality. Sounds, not hard to find. Same goes for the music. What I really need help with here is DEHACKED. Someone to help make sprites and someone to help make a few maps.

I don't know exactly heh. However It would be much easier for me if the file itself looped.

Well, I know how bad it sucks with no basis to start off with so, I've decided to go ahead and release what I've got done so far. So far this wad includes replaced sprites for the:

Leather Whip
Chain Whip
Dagger
Axe
Holy Water
Cross (boomerang)
Roast Beef
Roast Chicken

Keep in mind this is the first alpha and truly needs a lot of DEHACKED editing to make these weapons act and work even remotley right! This is simply for letting you all see the sprites. I have no idea how to do hardly anything in dehacked. I really need help with this! Anyway, you can get the file here:

http://justdoomit.250free.com/test.html

or if you want a direct link

http://justdoomit.250free.com/test.zip

This should give us all something to start out with for now.

Here's a short demo remix of Wicked Child I did.

http://www.geocities.com/kalma09/wicked_child_demo.mp3

The midi I used as the basis of my sequencing had the strings sequenced kinda weird, so that's why the first bit sounds like the drums are a 16th note off.. even though they're not afaik.. :P

Like I say in the ID3 tag, if stuff in this style is desired, I'll record real guitar for the actual material - it'll be a lot more metal. I can do other styles though, like more strictly orchestral or more strictly guitar based metal, or electronic or whatever (I *will* do a mix of styles, but what would be best?). Also, do you think this is too upfront? As in, should it be more background music-y, with less prominent percussion etc.? :)

I have to say that song is just Badass! It rox! As for the theme were looking for here, well, I'm really into Metal, so that sounds good too. But, since it's castlevania, it'll need some orchestral stuff too. I'm sure you can find a way to blend metal with orchestral.
It's definately not too upfront. The percussion is really good! I love it! Keep up the good work!

BTW: You play guitar? Me too!
