Playing around with the Demoltionist for the first time, and something I wonder is why isn't he not knocked around more by the explosive blasts he enjoys unleashing so much of? I think its something he would actually enjoy. :D What I mean is lots of knockback without the resulting damage.

because he is immune to splash-damage, which i assume is where most of the "force" of the blasts come from. this does mean, sadly enough, that he can't rocket-jump, even though that'd be a fun thing to do.

Just another reason for him to bring his good friend Bob SSAP.

Jumping back in to this mod on Doom2.wad with the monsters too. Get to the crusher and instead of a stationary spidermastermind i see the mother of all pain elementals, which proceeds to fly out of the killchamber and puke out what quickly grew into the largest lost soul and pain elemental horde i have ever seen. After wasting literally all my ammo trying to kill it and dying a handful of times, i decide to say screw it and just run past. It was tough with the skulls hot on my trail (heh) but I did eventually make it up the elevator with the key. However i soon found that when you start the final fight a door opens to the starting area, and the lost soul horde i had avoided started to stream in. I noped right the fuck out of there. Not sure if it counts as a bug, but it was certainly one of the most intense doom moments i have ever played

The Agony Elemental right? I had trouble with those for the longest time. The best hint I can give is...
Spoiler:
...therefore hit-and-run with a sufficiently huge gun tends to work for me. I'd say they're scary as hell, but still fair-ish. As with the other really scary bosses, don't forget those phase-devices if you've got 'em!

Not a bug. You just found one of the boss replacements for either a Cyberdemon, or Mastermind spawn. The Agony Elemental. This thing constantly spits out lost souls and occasional Pain Elementals. As far as I know it can only spawn regular lost souls. (Can you imagine if this thing could pop out Hungry?) Speaking of, should there be an Elemental that spawns hungry? We already have the Machine Elemental.

unfortunately, due to how random the mod is, it's perfectly possible to encounter enemies that outright break some map gimmicks like the Agony Elemental. if you're REALLY in a no-win situation, you could always try killing off said enemy with a console command.

Is it bad that I find those (granted, only fought 2 ever) easier than The Hungry?

Cause holy fuck the second I see them they waste no time feasting on my ass quite literally.

Nah, it makes sense to me.
The Hungry are fast and deadly. A million regular Lost Souls, while somewhat intimidating to look at, are still dumb as a brick.
The Agony Elemental is either a slow, withering battle of attrition or a swift coup de grace (if you catch it off-guard with a big enough gun). Any fights with The Hungry tend to be over pretty quickly, one way or another.

Now, the Gluttony Elemental, on the other hand... That thing simply should not exist.
Not that it was ever possible to see one without summoning it yourself.

Why would you even think it was a bug?
I don't understand.

Well if it's a shadow aura enemy I won't really be dealing with it. I found RLA by itself is more fun than RPG+RLA. I meant a Pain Elemental variant that spawns hungry. RPG just makes it too easy imo. Once your luck is increased enough and you find the Prototype Assault Shield it's smooth sailing from there. I prefer to be lucky enough just by base RNG standards to chance across the rarest armors.

Are power modpacks supposed to be so rare? I am playing as a technician through Doom2.wad, currently on refueling base and i have yet to see a single one despite deconstructing every gun i can. It sucks because many of the assemblies i want to make require them. I have found multiple firestorm and sniper modpacks though

Completely random. You are no less likely to get power modpacks than any of the other "Common" modpacks.

The Gluttony Elemental is what you're looking for.
It no longer exists. Even when it did, it could not be encountered unless manually summoned.
Now please, do not speak of such things; I shudder to think what might happen if such an abomination were to be brought back into our reality.

What's this you speak of, Cowardice in the face of any of hell's forms? Any marine knows that hell doesn't usually hold back the punches.
