Half-Life

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

why, because someone including ReX could steal your work without credit or permission to do? well, he already requested the permission to you, and he'll credit you anyways.

anyway i'm not gonna push you, it's your choice. yeh or ney.

Welp. If ReX will "steal" this work, then i don't need to work on this mod anymore, because ReX will finish everything in Paranoid.

I get the feeling Mr. Pencil doesn't understand English very clearly and keeps misinterpreting what people here are saying.

Mr. Pencil, I think you read the phrasing of Captain J's post wrong. He wasn't saying Rex WAS going to steal your work, Captain J was just describing a hypothetical scenario---ReX said he'd be happy to properly credit you.

Mr. Pencil, as Captain J & Big C have stated, no one wishes to take your work and claim it as their own. You would release your work when it was ready, and you would then decide if others could use your work (after giving credit to you). In other words, no reputable person would want to "steal" your effort.

If you decide to release your project without giving permissions for others to use it, I will certainly not adopt it for my project.

Exactly, it was just an idea, no one will steal anything.

EDIT:Hope you didn't get mad and gave up, i would be really sad if you did, i keep checking this topic for updates.

hehe, another mod where there's only guns and no meps '-'...

Well, at least, zdoom modders are better than warcraft 3 ones, where they never allow others to reuse their Works, and it's just not a simple copy and paste, without the source code you cannot make anything with that...

But, it's just me, i kinda lost interest in mods with only new guns/monsters only :( because, there's so many great mods (like yours) but without proper maps for fit them (ex the doomero mod from Doom 3 weapons/monsters for doom, it took like 4 or 5 years for someone to make a specific map for it ;--; [ and I already lost that map link again...])

It's just my opinion, but I would love to share my resources to paranoid if I was you, since it's a great mod and it really representes the feel/gameplay of half life 1 in Doom

Not everyone is a mapper and not everyone is a coder. I'd rather have mods that change up gameplay variety considering the metric crapton of maps, megawads and otherwise out there, then something that tries to be a TC in its own right with potentially horrible maps because more focus was on the new content.

Considering the wording of his post, it's out of his control; lack of free time, etc. So, just "finish it please" probably wouldn't magically give him free time.

Still though, not sure what point there was to completely blanking out the first post. It's the opposite of archiving, and honestly is just really annoying.

Yeah, I really don't like closing threads, even by request, but even more than that, I don't like people blanking posts. There's even a rule about that.
