If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

Do you all think that when Doom 4 is confirmed moddable, people (or only half of them) will stop modding for Doom I-II?

Nah, classic DOOM will always be full of modders. Besides, even if moddable, most modern games tend to be hard to mod. Making new resources alone can take many years for a modern game, while you can make a lot of new things (not just resources) with classic DOOM.

If that would happen, we wouldn't be modding Doom I-II right now because we'd just be modding Doom 3.

Besides, all it can do is expand the community overall. They are different games, with different gameplay, features, constraints, and such. There is no reason to drop one for the other, for the same reason we still play Doom even though Doom2 exists. It's just a lot less pronounced because they use the same engine.

Basically, why not have both? :P

I'd say the reason Doom I-II continues to be modded is mostly because it's easier to do and you have more direct control since the engine was completely released and, with (G)ZDoom in particular, the scripts are easy to string together.

That and many people don't have good enough computers to mod newer games

As a huge doom fan I am really disappointed by this gameplay they showed
Where the fuck is the heavy metal soundtrack ?
Even Doom 1 with its MIDI soundtrack it clearly wanted to be metal, its a game about gore and shotgun, heavy metal is indeed something that it should be on it, the dubstep shit they put in clearly broke the game making it not feel like doom but some Halo knockoff with some gory stuff. The game doesnt look like doom it clearly doesnt feel like Doom, it's not Doom for me its just, another shooter. I hope the you guys or the guys on Realm667 try to make this game an ACTUAL DOOM game, because from what I can see, this is worse than Doom 3, KF2 looks and feel more like Doom than this..thing, even the Doomguy looks like something from halo. And to think, that people would compare masterchief to Doomguy.

Maybe they wanted it to be more like the Ps1 and N64 Dooms? Those didn't exactly have metal riffs, they actually had very similar atmospheric music to what you see in this new one. That's still Classic Doom, it just has a different atmosphere about it. It's a bit more horror themed, even if the action hasn't changed.

Uhm. Nice fake post? Mick Gordon is doing music for Doom4, who did some of music in the WolfTNO soundtrack. He's proven himself more than capable.

Edit: Speaking of, here's something Nash will love:

E2m2 might not be metal, but you have that slow drums snare and that creepy sinister keyboard going on that gave the game a great feeling, I am afraid that DOOM 4 wont have that it will feel just like another game and not doom, music is important for a video game, and DOOM clearly got inspiration from the trash metal bands from the 80's and 90's

And then they just remove that and put dubstep on it, not a fan, what is the problem with a 30 seconds guitar riff with doublebass blasting on the background while you kill a baron of hell ? why remove that id ? y ?

Spoiler:
maybe, I dont know, maybe I got so used to doom 2 and doom 4 looks so different that I weirded out by it

It's not even comparative. It's a recording with actual instruments, for a start. :|

I dont know, as I said, I might just be weirded out about how different it looks and I am judging a 10 minutes gameplay, it's moddable so, I guess I can just make my own mod and just roll it, will see on the future

But I do miss some guitar riffs on that gameplay
