There are specific flags for 3dfx compatibility, but don't expect super frame rates. Probably should turn interpolation off as well. 3DGE is confirmed to run under Win9x. :)

Running better than zandronum and it would be fine :p (that is the fps from all the ports on their vanilla doom 2 maps start points)

Well, I couldn't run 3DGE over my windows 98 machine because it ended up into that crash box

"this software excuted an ilegal operation and will be closed.
if the problem persist, contact the 3DGE programmer."

3DGE executed an invalide instruction in the module
3DGE.EXE in 016f:005be77b.

V1.36 opens, but nothing is showed, (it's like a void main(){ } software)

V1.40 said that one file that was vinculated to MSVCRT.dll was not found "_localtime64" (is that a 64bits software?)

And he first edge build over sourceforge got the same result as v1.36 :(

EDIT: directx 8 is installed, and the v1.03 driver too (if I remember this one already supported directx 7), am I missing something?

EDIT2: Is edge 32bits resolution only? because voodoo 3 can only do 16bits graphics

I won't know anything with that output - Please attach a copy of your EDGE2.log or DEBUG.log so I can see where the program is faulting out. Don't copy and paste into the thread though - attach them as regular attachments.

Which one, exactly?

Set -bpp to 16 in the command line and launch again.

3DGE is 32 and 64 bit compatible, unless you built the Linux version of 1.36, which is for 64bit machines only. It looks like you are trying to run the 64-bit Linux release.

Or Pastebin, probably. The forum's attachment limit might get a little tight.

Ah, yes =) Pastebin is a wonderful resource!

As soon as this issue gets resolved with ibm5155, I'll release 2.0.1. LOTS of changes in the next version (including Chrono's smooth[er] sprite values).

you can release it, I'll only touch that computer in 13 hours :(, and I think supporting a 18 years old machine wouldn't be your priority, but if you want to wait. :-D

About the logs, I say they yesterday, but, I didn't see any interesting information, and these are the builds I tested (windows builds :p)

The logs would be helpful only to determine when the program crashed (what it was last doing/calling). It will also give me a vendor ID and a driver version to further debug the issues ;) I don't mind! =)

New release getting packed together as I type ^_^

BUMP! Released 3DGE v2.0.1 today. This has a lot of bugfixes and restorations so make sure to check the changelog. Most notably; bobbing is back, all HUDS for all games are working and fixed, DDF enhancements (namely, Styles.DDF), old bugs squashed, Dehacked lump loading modification, EDGE2.cfg better default configs, better DDF defaults, and increased 3D model support. As usual, please report any bugs you find :-)

NOTE: Bobbing is going to make the viewport "jerky" because it is not interpolated. I figured it would be best to integrate it regardless, because it can always be turned off again (by adding the BOBBING= value, which is removed now by default).

;)
