Randy have you finished Half-Life 2 yet??

Jeez, I'm sure I'd get less than 1 FPS on Half-Life with my computer. However, if there's a Massacre code, then perhaps 1 frame is all I would need...

What's a Massacre code?

And BTW it's probably not gonna run at 1FPS on yuor PC. Unless you've got a 500MHz PIII with a GeForce MX400 and you're planning to run the game at the highest graphics settings your card (and the version of DX supported by yuor card) will allow....

Massacre code is like "kill monsters" in the ZDoom console.

And yeah, I probably could run Half-Life (I've got roughly what you've got in terms of PCs) but I don't know, I'm happy with NES, SNES and ZDoom. I guess I'm just stuck in oldskool mode.

well done to me, i managed to crash out the game leading to a skip being hurled over the ocean and the game to completely freeze

so much for HL2 having realistic physics

i wasnt aware skips flew across the ocean if they were balanced on a barrel

Where does this Massacre code apply?

BTW you like old-skool-type-of-stuff and stuff? Play Meteor 1 & Meteor 2.... Tey roxx0rz0r....

Half-Life 2 will probably drag you out of old-skool mode kickin' and screaming though (at least if temporarily).... I know this guy who plays only X-Box games (he's a moron) and he wouldn't touch PC's with a ten-foot pole, but after seeing Half-Lfe 2, he literally picked up the box, copied down the recommended PC specs from under the box, went and boght that computer and bought Half-Life 2 just so he could play it (he didn't even wanna wait for the X-Box version!)! :P Soething tells me this is teh PC Gaming revolution we've all been waiting for.... Death to the consoles! Bless Half-Life 2! :P

Don't know if there is a Massacre code in HL2...

But if there were, all you'd need is 1 frame to kill everyone on the level, then 1 frame to warp the next level, then 1 frame to... etc... etc...

Meteor... Can't believe I haven't heard of this one! Teh oldskoolxz0rz! Not as oldskool as Scorch but almost!

Heh, yeah, I know HL2 would remove me from oldskool mode, but I'm scared of that so I'll return to my cardboard box now.

Heh cool you've got a cardboard box too! Man you and I are exactly the same! LOL!

BTW Play Meteor 2.... That's even better. And there's a 3D version coming in 2005, which should roxor.... I'm helping with the development of both.

Do they need any music?

Anyway, sorry to drag up an old topic, but I just realised.,.. you don't need to buy an OS... you don't even need to pirate it. Doom3 does (or will) natively support Linux... get Linus instead. There, now you don't have to care about buying a new OS cus Linux is free. Problem solved... and we all win. I'm sure Linus will also be a great improvement over your pappy 98 setup too... it'll probably make everythingh run a thousend times better.

A bit of advise chap... your a cool guy and all... you remind me a little of me ya know? I asked questions that didn't seem stupid to me... of course they weren't stupid, because if I truly knew thewn I wouldn't have asked them... but they seemed like stiupid questions because they bared little relevence to anything really... plus, they were questions that many people already knew... except me... I was jjust like you ya know... that was, until I got into Techno music and raves! :trippy:

Now look at me! :D (I'm a raving looney :D... heh, that's a pun :D)

Full Half Life 2 SDK is available now... working with the original HL engine was nice, I'm sure the Half Life 2 engine is just as good.

maybe it would be easier to show you...
Spoiler:
i balanced the big thingy ontop of a barrel, then by accident (dont ask how, i really dont know) i shot the skip... thingy, it moved slightly... then started rising into the air rotating faster and faster untill eventually it decided to go flying off over the ocean and the game froze
the barrel below the big... skip... thing... was still rotating, as if it was still balancing off it

gah i cant think what there called... anyone know?

bleh guess im just unlucky, as soon as i 1st played the game i found a glitch, all models showed as horrid looking mutated shapes until i either raised or lowered model quality

As a matter of fact I think they do.... James Bunting (the author of the game(s)) only has dance/trance/techno~esqu MODs and XM's at the moment (and that might be all he's looking fr) but if you can make good melodic heavy-metal type of music that woud go good with the game, or some nice techno-electronica, then yeah I think he'd appreciate it. Play the game too. It rocks (Meteor 2 especially).

Yeah... how can giest not know what a skip is? Everyone knows what a skip is...

Image

Man, I still don't own HL2... I'll have to wait for chrimbo...

As for music, I was thinking more along the lines of properly produced techno/trance/electronic. Not mods, but the real deal man... I can do that you know. Well, I could do that, but my money has taken a large dip and I can't afford that new processor that I hope will make my computer behave in Logic Audio...
