I thought about it, and aproximately 1/10 of a second later came up with Eternity (though admittedly it doesn't have jumping, but bleargh).neuclian wrote:think about it, what other original port of doom can you configure the best MUS player without the original dos exe under a dos OS with a 16-bit sound card?
More frames per second? I think that this totally wicked, makes doom like a whole new game.
Not to mention the mouse aiming of the vertical axis and jumping capabilities, .. heh, cmon.

Same goes for me. I downloaded it back in the days of ~1.2~ish, and I was blown-away by the advantages it had over Doom, and even over Boom. I loved the mouse-look capability and a few other things that added pizzazz to it. Of course in those days ZDooM was so slow on my PC it was barely tolerable. It was partially because of my PC too: it was too old.
Also, when did I realize how powerful ZDooM is GOING TO BE IN THE FUTURE: When I came to these forums and started reading through the threads about a year and a half ago (or whenever it was these forums were opened.

No, just certain people working on KDIZD are sicked of being asked the same question over and over again. Almost every group of amateur modmakers in existence almost certainly feels the same way.
Remember, we're doing this purely as a hobby and for fun. Where would the fun be in working ourselves ragged to reach some inflexible final deadline?

True. But also, what would the point be if there WAS no deadline of any sort, meaning that the project could be dropped and left to rot in the void because it was never done? I actually like how Tormentor has - to some degree anyway - Germanized the gathering by making it a bit more organized than the average project of that kind. The fact that he still tries to push people to meet the "End Of Week #x" deadlines may very well help this project se the light of day sometime, oh, I don't know, say, possibly after Christmas.
