What. The. FUCK.
That's the biggest dick move yet from Hasbro imo. What are they "protecting" their IP from? Their fans that do nothing but support the IP? I mean come on...

Feel sorry for the guy, without him, there wouldn't be Button's mom for me to ship with the AVGN. What is Hasbro gonna do next, C&D Fluffle Puff Tales, the .MOV series and the like?ShadowTiger wrote:OH CRAP! AWFUL!
It was bound to happen eventually, I guess, maybe, ... ... was it?I mean I know full well that Hasbro was in their rights to do this, but ... ... geez. Poor JanAnimations. Worked so hard on those, and was enjoyed by so many.

It's a shady area. Do remember it's mostly lawyers who are handling this and not Hasbro directly. I feel sad for Jan, but hey. It's business.

Well...
The newest episode's name is glorious beyond belief.

At least something has been done right recently.

Luna is such a Deus Ex Machina device in these sorts of episodes. But hey, whatever gets the realizations going.
I think Luna is doing her part to atone for her qualms with Celestia. It feels like she's some sort of Santa Claus now, going from dream to dream, making sure everyone learns their lessons and whatever.

Strangely, that's the second time Pinkie's been like that (the first was with Cranky Doodle Donkey), and it makes her kinda feel annoying as a result. Maybe she doesn't know that being actual friends takes a long time, not in a jiffy like Facebook friends or something.Caleb13 wrote:@ShadowTiger:
I wouldn't call the S3 and 4 episodes better or worse. However, I think many of them convey confusing messages (to children) and/or aren't all that well thought through. Take the latest Maud episode, for example - the episode would have been perfect if it ended with Maud saying she probably won't become friends with the rest of M6 and cutting her Ponyville visit short. I mean, doesn't that happen all the time? You simply don't become friends with people with radically different attitudes or life values; even nerdy Twilight becoming friends (let alone Elements of Harmony) with noisy, obnoxious and irrational Pinkie wouldn't be very probable (in the real world). The actual ending (we are all Pinkie's friends, which automatically makes us friends with each other) therefore feels not only forced, but also totally wrong.

It depends on your personality. Rather, of the two personalities involved. If I'm an extremely upbeat person, and I'm speaking to a person who has an above-average level of "upbeat" themselves, then they'll see fairly quickly that they can be good friends, and will harbor scant few reservations on getting to know each other. I've seen it happen dozens upon dozens of times, and is a phenomenon I'm very familiar with.
Again, though, it really depends on the person. We can't be generalizing everyone into a group that it would take a certain amount of time greater than a specific amount to befriend.
It's an "easy in" as it were. It's not without its choices, though. If you suddenly have to choose between friends when under such a state of amiability, you're likely to choose the old and familiar rather than the new and filled-with-potential. Rock-steady is where it's at.

Re: Topic for people who like MLP:FiM
i did find the pacing for Maud Pie interesting. it's not as crazy or high-energy as generally most of Season 4 has been, but i agree with the ending. it was pretty obvious that neither the Mane Six (or rather, five of them) nor Maud Pie seemed very compatible as friends. the five of them even admitted this to her, and Maud went her merry way home for some business trip. i felt that would be a realistic conclusion, albeit somewhat bitter compared to the show's nature. sometimes people don't click, and you have to accept that a friend's friends (or siblings, in this case) can't automatically be your friends just because you have a friend in common. i feel that's happened a number of times for me, and i've had to disband relationships because of it (or THEY have disbanded themselves from me).
Re: Topic for people who like MLP:FiM
If the serious undertone of Maud Pie's episode was emphasized to be more realistic, it would be more of a drama than an actual cartoon. Nevertheless, we've got a point that not everyone can become friends just like that.
