Re: Help with running multiple mods
I was using Chrome, I suppose it could be that. And also I tried downloading the Doomsday version and it didn't work either. I can't test my Chrome theory at the moment but when I can or if you can, I'll post a result.

Re: Help with running multiple mods
I got the Hi-Res mod working now. Simple drag and drop method is working just fine. For whatever reason, snatching the mod off the official site's server was timing out, multiple times. So i grabbed it from a different server. This indeed was the problem the entire time. The mod i had was incomplete, hence the errors and resistance.

That's because Doomsday / jDoom handles its archives differently than how ZDoom handles it (different folder names, different coding, ect.)The DOOMED Marine wrote:And also I tried downloading the Doomsday version and it didn't work either.

May I ask, what server did you download the pack on (a link would be great) and is it the latest version? Can't seem to find the latest version other than on the website.

I know this is long, loooong since irrelevant to the conversation here, but this made me giggle something fierce. Mostly because I know exactly how much finangling it would require.twinkieman93 wrote:If you want Brutal Doom weapons with DoomRL Arsenal modifications, well, that's not going to happen without some serious code finangling.

Is that what's happening? I've got a pretty badass rig and I get this too. I tried all sorts of options and no good. GZDoom with that exact pack causes the 'syndrome' that you described, exactly. Any way to get around this? Using that pack with ZDoom is better somehow. Zero stuttering. Reason I'm asking is I'm working on a collection of mods for G/ZDoom and I'm in the process of finalizing it, more or less. It could work perfectly fine in ZDoom, but there are some glaringly obvious issues with that texture pack and ZDoom. I also like the way GZDoom handles skyboxes.Hellser wrote:Not to mention, it suffers from what I call the "AEoD Syndrome" -- where your computer actually has to stop, read the PK3 and go "Oh, I'm suppose to be loading that" - increased load times and stuttering when opening doors and what not due to unloaded textures.Death Messiah wrote: Yeah... speaking of counter productive i take it this is all necessary for the Hi-Res mod to run right? I find all this tedious. Only with the consideration that i don't have do this with any other mod. Every mod, IWAD, already works perfect. I suppose i'm starting to see why you dislike the hi-res mod, lol. I simply don't grasp the concept if what this is actually doing, so by default i see it unnecessary if everything is just working fine.
Here's one of them:
