1. Opened Photoshop CS4. As far as I can tell, this is the version from the CS4 Master Collection, 11.0.
2. Opened Vending-Machine (1).psd (I redownloaded your update from earlier).
3. The dialogue box reads: "This document contains unknown data which will be discarded to keep layers editable. To preserve the original appearance instead, choose Flatten to load composite data as a flattened image." I chose Keep Layers.
4. Located "Place Graphic Here" layer group. The Effects layers above it seem to have no discernable effect when toggled on or off.
5. Toggled off PLACEHOLDER layer just to make sure. What appears behind is a brick of solid grey, no shadow or glow effects visible.

Tried resaving the image to a PNG. This is the result.

Which doesn't seem so bad except when compared to one of yours from earlier:

[edit] And just to be clear, I did remember to re-enable any layers I'd disabled.

Here it is rasterized with blending modes intact as far as I can tell. I never really figured out if the blending modes of styles on a layer only apply to how that one layer looks and then that is applied to the rest of the image with the layer's blending mode or if the blending modes of the styles on a layer operated as a separate layer entirely. :x

There is one last thing that I would like you to try. It looks like only the layer styles on the group aren't working, so I moved all of the layer styles and the mask onto the placeholder graphic.

Well, I think I've got things covered about now, after about 10 minutes of google image searching:

Does the second one on the bottom row actually dispense everything pictured? ;)
