I've been doing some weird stuff as of late. Got the random gift of A Valley Without Wind 1 and 2, haven't really put much time into them yet but the first game (at least) feels rather a lot like Terraria with less pixely art and more late-90s CGI. The Showdown Effect is in beta and that's great fun with a decent sized group of dudes, but throwing knives are really overpowered due to the complete lack of need to aim them. Also been putting time into some Xbox and PS2 games I picked up for cheap, like Unreal Championship 2 and the original TimeSplitters.

And so on average it took 0.054 seconds per file, which on average over 555 files had a duration of 1.02 seconds.
Which means that it took 5.405 seconds to do a cycle of 100 encodings, so it takes 5.3 times the duration of the file to do 100 encodings of it for me.

All this for a saving of 1.47%, or 197.6 Kilobytes in total, or even alternatively 0.356 Kilobytes per file on average. And a bunch of weird statistics in addition to a loss of the last speckles of sanity to be found in me.

Well, over the two cases I've tried this in, it yields an average reduction of ~1.9% (1.47% on this one, 2.32% on the other)
Which I guess is alright, though it'd be interesting to add some less stupid bruteforce options to this. (Currently it just flat out does 100 encodings with a block size of 256-25600 in steps of 256, quite brute.)

Sounds exactly like what happens in Chivalry. The idiocy and hack-accusations, I mean, except instead of hax its team damage.

Yup, because I totally lopped my own teammate's arm off with a poleaxe on purpose. Jeez, can't people just give others the benefit of the doubt? Not everyone has the perfect reflexes and motor control you must have to be thinking that any time team damage occurs it's always 100% on purpose. I don't know about you guys but when I REALLY get going I don't stop based on the color of someone's uniform, or armor in this case. Too much blood rage coursing through my veins, you know. This is why I don't play Chivalry because team damage is about the worst thing ever for someone like me.

The other thing I don't get is why people even care. I personally don't care when a teammate accidentally chops my head off during a battle, nor if it was on purpose just every once in a while.
