Well done. It's very good.

I was thinking about making an imp such this some time ago, but using a Cyberdemon arm instead, but I got lazy and droped it. :P

Yes, I think the other was a 3D render in LWM's Hellspawn (as credited).

Looks great, maybe you could reduce the pain chance so it's not as easy to kill. Logically speaking, the Imp's probably less likely to feel pain with the mechanics anyway.

Personally, I find his single bolt plasma attack a little underwhelming. I agree that he shouldn't have a full-auto attack like the arachnotron but something like a three round burst (releasing the projectiles at the same rate as the player weapon) might work quite well.

I agree. But when you think of it, this monster's projectile is faster (a lot faster) and more powerful than the original imp's. Adding a three-round-burst attack could be deadly for such a low-level monster, unless the projectile's damage is weaker and maybe a bit slower. just to balance things out.

Heh, yes, I did notice that a friendly one could gib zombiemen. If the damaged were lowered, a "sweet spot" could possibly be found where the damage was low enough not to be too unbalancing but still high enough that only a observant player would really notice that the apparently-the-same-as-player-plasma-bolts were actually not as damaging.

Perhaps another thing to make a three-burst imp fairer/less overpowered might be a longer lead-in for the attack. eg, if the imp stood there for a moment or two as the plasma-weapon-thingy crackled with electricity and then let his shots fly it would give the player more time to get out of the way.

hmm, yeah, this monster has already been approved on R667, I dont want to cause confusion by releasing a new version so soon, if anyone wants to use this or edit it feel free, just give me credit :P
