Weapons Always Stay

Post by Ed the Bat »

I'm finding that, in multiplayer games, weapons will always stay, even if the DMFLAGS are set to deactivate that. Not sure what version this started happening, or why. Not really much else I can add to this one...

This is actually completely intentional. Deathmatch flags only apply to deathmatch.

There's a console variable to force deathmatch settings to apply to cooperative games, called [wiki=CVARs:Configuration#Multiplayer_and_bot_settings]alwaysapplydmflags[/wiki].

I never knew... I didn't think I had this problem before, but... to be honest, my memory isn't what it used to be (at least I think so... can't remember).
Well, anyway, thanks so much for the help. I think this will be exactly what I need to get things on track.

EDIT: Scratch that. No matter if I have that CVAR set to 0 or to 1, weapons are always staying in co-op, in spite of the DMFLAG set to 'off'...
DOUBLE EDIT: I'm also finding that the flag will actually set itself to TRUE when I launch Deathmatch games, even if I had it set to FALSE upon launch.
FINAL EDIT: I've managed to get it working now. Not sure what I was doing wrong before, but making sure that CVAR is set true in the launch arguments is getting me the results I want. Thanks again! :)
