The usual slot reservation system is a custom server mod that basically kicks a non-donor at random to let a donor (or admin) in. It's fairly non-discriminatory. More of the donor perks that TF2 servers set are fairly ridiculously stupid. To point is to encourage people to spend money on the server for their rewards (alternatively, the point is to get people to blacklist the server.)Ethril wrote:DISCONNECTED: SLOT RESERVED
who the hell programmed their slot reservation system? shouldn't a high-scoring engineer be one of the last people to get booted to make room? why not one of the scouts with 2 points?

Yeah I know, that's exactly the system I've been dealing with.Zippy wrote:The usual slot reservation system is a custom server mod that basically kicks a non-donor at random to let a donor (or admin) in. I just think it should have some kind of priority system in place so it doesn't screw over a team by eliminating a key player at an inopportune moment... one time I got booted WHILE I WAS UBERCHARGING SOMEONE.
Something like "spectators, then lowest-scoring players on winning team, then lowest-scoring players on losing team" would be nice. As an added bonus, it would even provide an incentive to play better; You'd be less at risk to get slot-booted.

apparently, accidentally killing your partner in co-op play nets you the message 'X checked x's glasses'.
i was all WHAT THE FUCK when that happened earlier tonight and laughed.

I watched this.

Note to the Xasermind: It may or may not be a good idea to browse the contents of one's hard drive while half-asleep and prone to insane laughter.
I just managed to stumble across a random text file titled "an-important-message.txt", so naturally, I opened it up to see what the hell it was.
The entire contents of the file were: "thoiuehatiouhaiohetiouhaetioh!"
It's amazing I'm still a functioning member of society to some degree.

But where are we going to get a stethoscope, Brain?Xaser wrote:Note to the Xasermind: It may or may not be a good idea to browse the contents of one's hard drive while half-asleep and prone to insane laughter.

Drawing a little more. Centurion BattleMech sketch, and a little female figure practice. (Barbie doll nude furry on the second link) Contemplating coloring the head of the second link and turning it into my avatar.

That sounds awfully Taz-manian.Xaser wrote:"an-important-message.txt" -- "thoiuehatiouhaiohetiouhaetioh!"
Well yeah, the guy is right. Except that the left leg isn't too thin, or well - it is kinda thin, but I'd say the right one is too thick in comparison.Project Dark Fox wrote:a little female figure practice. Angles and perspective, yeah. Argh.
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
That will hardly encourage people to donate to the server. The more risk they're in of being randomly booted, the more encouraged they'll be to give real world monies to not be inconvenienced. Which is, again, the entire goal of the system.Ethril wrote:Yeah I know, that's exactly the system I've been dealing with.

Play the first one before you play the second. Or else you'll hate the first one. Their a great throwback to old beat-em ups. And are definately a fun time. Highly recommend them to whoever wants a solid game

I thought it was pretty obvious from the beginning that printz was just kidding in the MS thread.

He may be kidding, but I don't think it's wise to carry a subject or situation from a thread to another one , especially when it's being locked.
Anyway, being buzy at work lately, but I happened to find the Specs Ops Survival for MW3 with a Model 1887 to be fun time. Aside of that, I am looking at map ideas I had done before.
I wonder if it's a good idea to make deathmatch maps, though.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
I know. I didn't want to continue the discussion, I just wanted to throw my two cents in on the issue, since I didn't get a chance because it was already locked by the time I read that part of it. That's still reasonable, is it?XanderK9 wrote:He may be kidding, but I don't think it's wise to carry a subject or situation from a thread to another one , especially when it's being locked.
