[WIP] Side Project : Mutant Chronicles

Post by HellCattX »

A Idea hit me while making Urban Pacification, that will Slow its progress down, but in a good way i think.
Introducing, Doom : Mutant Chronicles

Essentially re-making The mutant chronicles series in doom, the classes will be your side, Capitolian, Mishma, Brotherhood, ect.
Weapons will Be side specific, With the Dark Legion, if you use or take their tech, it will Slowly kill you.
This mod is not top priority unless people want it, U.P. comes first.

So far, Two brotherhood weapons have been re-created.

AC-40 Justifier with Integral Holy Disemboweler Chain Bayonet
This is the trademark weapon of Inquisitors, consisting of an under-the-arm mounted light machine gun fused with a large chain "bayonet" that dwarfs the size of the gun itself. The gun is belt fed from an ammunition pack worn by the user. The gun is very hard-hitting at short range, but is nearly impossible to aim. More impressive is the large chainsaw weapon it is attached to. (It might be more accurate to claim that it is a chain sword with a gun attachment, rather than a gun with a chain bayonet attachment.) The weapon is designed with close combat in mind, as Inquisitors often specialize in combative Aspects of the Art, and rely upon that (or supporting troops) for long range combat.

However in this Mod its going to be the smasher drum shotgun with explosive shells.

and

AC-41 Purifier HMG
This bulky weapon is a combination of gatling-style machine gun and a flame-thrower. It is not the top of the line in either capacity, but its versatility still makes it a weapon of choice for Inquisitors and Troopers.

Preview Of weapon testing.

You have my attention :D
As for the flamethrower/chaingun combo, I think the flame attack should have a shorter range or something, otherwise it might seem too much like the chaingun-firing mode.

The gatling does 7 damage, the flame thrower does 4, burns for 10 seconds, then burns out. trying to balance as best as i can, but this is going to be an more epic project than U.P., as each side will have 8-10 guns they can get to start, pending on class / side. But it will be fun hehehehehehe....
Also Until some point when this is a reality, Those two weapons are Unique hidden secret weapons in U.P. However, you Need to drop a Few weapons to take them...

**Added the two weapons as a download ontop of page 1 on my kit and kaboodle reasource topic. uses basic ammo, no spawners just basic guns**

Mutant Chronicles was out way before any gears of war. This was a pen and dice game.

Here is the online source of the weapon info.
http://sinai.critter.net/mutant/brother ... armory.htm
But that is just the brotherhood, there is many other megacorporations
Bauhaus, styled after the culture of continental Europe, the American-influenced Capitol
the Japanese-themed Mishima
the British-inspired Imperial
the ultra-secretive ambiguous Cybertronic
Dark Legion an ancient evil comprising five "Dark Apostles" and their horde of hideous mutants

The reign of the Dark Legion began as mankind set foot on Nero, a fictional tenth planet beyond the orbit of Pluto, where they discovered a citadel. As they entered, the Imperial Conquistadors – a group of interplanetary explorers – accidentally broke the First Seal Of Repulsion, a thin ring of salt spread around the citadel. Inside, a mysterious iron plate was found, and as it was touched, the Dark Legion was brought to our dimension, and along with it, the Dark Symmetry.
The Dark Symmetry prevents computers and other electronic devices from functioning reliably, if at all, and initially caused complete chaos, and then a forced adaptation of the technology used by mankind. The Dark Legion is capable of faster than light-travel, utilizing certain points in space, much like wormholes.
The Dark Legion is the enemy of all mankind and commands the most powerful armies of the solar system, including Legionnaires, resurrected corpses of fallen Megacorp heroes; Necromutants, hideously modified humanoids; Centurions, the lethal lieutenants of the Dark Legion; and Nepharites, fearsome, towering behemoths of unimaginable power.

TL;DR Basicaly its something between Warhammer 40k and DooM. With style.

BTW: This is one of my earliest sprites. Last edited in 2004.

For some time I had DooMtrooper card with this rifle in my wallet as a good charm. Its practically ragged now.

That looks an awful lot like a bolter rifle.
Lol, and if your not going to read it, why bother posting a responce? its like asking a rhetorical queston, and expecting a answer, as the Two Games are totaly diferent. Warhammer, was done with minatures and has nothing to do with the story line stated above, have different RACES, like elves, dwarves, ect. Mutant Chronicles, IS all Humans VS necromutants, just different factions of humans.

Hellstorm SMG to be exact.

And as much as I like MC, it IS a ripoff of WH40 just like Warcraft is a ripoff of WH:FB. Huge shameless ripoff and nobody cant say otherwise. Only difference is that MC is not that megalomanic, which I personaly like.

With all my maps i'v made, i put in DM and Coop spawns, so in theroy i can say yes, but i've never played online to test. U.P will be the test once i get the bugs out and refine it.this one will take longer as someone will be making the sprites from the ground up.
