The number of Heretic weapon mods is pretty small, so just about anytime I see somebody make a good Doom weapons mod, I try porting it to Heretic for personal use (well, except Brutal Doom. That would take a hell of a lot of work). And Heretic's weapon loadout is similar to Doom's, so balancing and deciding what weapons spawn where is much easier than doing it for Strife & Hexen. And I think its kinda cool to have a tech'ed out supersoldier dropped into a high-fantasy world.

Except the ammo lying around, including the weapons, would make even less sense than they already do.
EDIT: On the flipside, blasting demons away from the Doom world with Heretic's weapons seems .... fascinating.

Trying to remember how to do an isometric camera in ACS. I had an example from an old Marble Madness wad, but there's probably a better way out there.

I dunno, maybe you could try setting the camera's FOV as low as possible, and have it be a very far distance away.

If you can't see the appeal in blowing a centaur's face off with a shotgun, then I just don't know you.

They tend to blend together. All I remember about Heretic (which is sad considering I nearly finished doing a full enhancement wad of it) is that it had mummies and was the not-shit one of the pair.

I think you shouldn't, as you said the player's goal is to reach level 9 and defeat the bosses, when the bosses are on level 8 and the secret map is level 9, which is entirely optional :P
