HeXetic: Rise of D'Sparil
Re: HeXetic: Rise of D'Sparil
Plot Update!!!
You know how in Heretic 2, the tome of power talks to corvus, that should validate his dream in the cutscene!
And nice cutscene.
I think you added too many monsters in a non-boss area!

I don't know that, but convert the Doom graphics to pngs!Pelle123 wrote:You could start by saying have you got any idea how to make these music files smaller...Bouncy wrote:I want to contribute something when I have free time, but I don't know what. XD(the wad is already 20mb and there's only one music +hexen sprites and textures and sounds...)
Then put in a 7zip or something at the end (it's more efficient)
Re: HeXetic: Rise of D'Sparil
TIP: Make sure your PNGS are optimized prior to insertion. I had about 100 new graphics in my wad, and just optimizing them knocked off an enormous part of the total wad size, without any loss in quality. How you would do this exactly depends on the image editor you use, though.skib wrote:I don't know that, but convert the Doom graphics to pngs!Pelle123 wrote:You could start by saying have you got any idea how to make these music files smaller...Bouncy wrote:I want to contribute something when I have free time, but I don't know what. Re: HeXetic: Rise of D'Sparil
I use a batch file that does this:
PNGOut and DeflOpt must be obtained first of course.)
The parameters are quite important here. -kgrAb tells pngout to keep the [wiki]grAb[/wiki] chunk (otherwise, it tosses it out and your sprites lose their offsets), and /k tells deflopt not to remove any chunk.
If you're dealing with grayscale PNGs (such as for decals), then you'd need to tell pngout to also keep the alPh chunk.
Code: Select all
for %%I in (*.png) do pngout %%I -kgrAb

That's a test map. There wouldn't be a giant square room with everything just put there in a serious level.

Yeah, dur!Gez wrote:That's a test map. There wouldn't be a giant square room with everything just put there in a serious level.
But he shouldn't have made it E1M4 (no offence pelle)
He should have made a final ep called 'test'.
And I have a suggestion!

....Why?skib wrote:Spoiler:

Both as in why did you put that ONE line in a spoiler, when it isn't large or spoiling of anything, and why the fuck is a tutorial level needed?
Aside from that, I think this project has promise. I've always wanted to see Hexen mixed with Heretic.

Re: HeXetic: Rise of D'Sparil
Yes, the big square room is test map. No, I will not make an episode called "test" because I think it's easier to just have a random testmap. It will be removed when I have most things done.
I also have already changed to pk3 in the latest version. All the images are also in png format so that is not a problem anymore.
Not sure about making a tutorial.. Don't think so many people would need it and I personally hate tutorials.
Thank you all for your interest. I shall try to get something done again soon.

Have you currently made a powered up quietus for no ammo? Because if redmana = 14 or whatever, it fires without ammo!
If not, let me do it?
Infact, list decorate stuff you want done!
PLEASE this is my favourite mod, I want to help!!
EDIT1 How will you edit the end screen?
