Re: LOS type cutsenes
I couldn't get myself to play past the third encounter with a mob of demons. It was okay to look at, but got old fast for me. And relating to the topic, I find cutscenes annoying in action oriented games such as doom. I can understand in an rpg or rts where you aren't experiencing the game from a first person view. I find cut-scenes break the firstperson immersion.

If this keeps going, we're going to ave to split the thread, but...
Though the gameplay was simple, and you could frequently hide in a nook where you're invincible, usually the straightforward slaughter was mindless enough that I didn't care if each encounter was planned to a point. And the gameplay quality really hikes up on the extra hell level.
Not every wad has to play like Deus Vult or Scythe to be fun.
Don't dare put that last sentence in quotes. I know you're thinking about it.

Re: LOS type cutsenes
Upon further review of LOS, I have decided that I agree with Graf about the massive battle scenes. Some of them were simply too much to deal with and not enough space to maneuver around in.
But I stand by my opinion about the atmosphere and feel to the mod. It was quite good in most other respects.

It's easy. Move the player to a room in front of a switch and set his properties so that he can't move. Give the switch a script special that sets the camera to 0 when used and stops all of the events in the cutscene and then move the player back.devildemon wrote:...yes they be skipable (somehow)
