That's way too dark. But after changing the brightness/contrast/gamma it looks amazing.

Its supposed to be dark(nighttime), it can be quite fun in my opinion because you can't see your opponents, but they cant see you, so you can sneak up on someone...

This is just a small (insignificant?) detail, but if you're in a city area, the light pollution would make it impossible to see that many stars. You have to be way out in the country, and even what you have may be excessive.

Though I have yet to see a nighttime sky that actually takes this into account.

But to his credit the city's looking pretty good. I think MOD could make a very good single-player city WAD for ZDoom.

Yes I can. :P Besides, its not an entire city, its just a few buildings, a small park, and a 4-way. Any bigger and it would be unplayable in dm.

Risen: It doesn't matter. It's just a game, screw light pollution. The last thing I want to be reminded of is light pollution. I live in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere and still have problems seeing the sky because of our idiot neighbors with what I swear is a big set of giant runway lights. Please don't ask anymore.

I know it doesn't matter, but it might be a nice detail, that's all. That sucks about your neighbors. I love my stars. Vermont is awesome.

So does that mean you WILL or MIGHT make a single-player variation?

Not anytime soon... :P And if I do make a sp/coop version, it would be a huge pain in the ass, this level was one of the biggest pains ever for me, and for an sp version I would have to make it bigger...

Hmm, OK. But why was it "one of the biggest pains ever" for you? What was so hard about making it? (Heh, this is starting to sound like an interview!).

Good god, where to begin... first I made just the main area, wich is a huge square sector, then I added basic stuff, like where the buildings were supposed to go, and it wasn't too bad. I just made all the basics and everything, then it happened.

Then it was time to detail it.

Oh

My

God.

All I wanted was something that looked real, and it was some of the most repetitive stuff I have ever done, and some of it even gave me hassle, and was just a pain in general. Street lights, parking lots, the disco in map03 delayed me because I am a horrid scripter and I had to wait for someone to help me with a script, and I was delayed for a while waiting for Mr. Tee's sprite. But all the work was worth it. Its a nice level, it looks good and should play very well in 4 player FFA. There are tons of stuff that made this level a pain(its also the first level of this type I have done).

So, the easiest way to sum all of this up-

IT WAS A HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS!

[EDIT]Interveiw, lol.

Heh yeah.

So, any idea when you'll be making a sequel? Or a possible Single Player version?

And if so, do you think you would get help from other people with a single player version to slightly reduce the hassle?

Edit: Now I'm just gonna MAKE it sound like an interview even more!

You will get lucky If I ever do a map like that again. Anyways, this project has only one map left to go, and because it is almost done I have started another project(this one is sp, and a hub! :D ), but now this new one has become a super big pain in the ass, thanks to my craptacular OS ( :P :) ) that goes by the name windows98. Please don't ask for a description of this new project, I have just started it today, but I will tell you this-

Its a hub

It has 2 new weapons

WILL have a new decorate monster or 2 by me :)

will be 3 maps, maybe 4

Nice to hear. And we'll be looking forward to that Hub-based Single Player project. OK thanks for the interview and we hope to hear from you again very soon. Take it easy.... [/interview]

If I could make a suggestion: having played a hell of a lot with your kick-arse "moddest" mod, I think you should add way more than just 2 new weapons. Heck, maybe you could even take some FROM "moddest" (as long as you don't include that Frame-Rate-killing mushroom-explosion rocket launcher!).

nah, the only new weapons I even need are a railgun(replaces SSG), and of course a more realistic shotgun(just give the sg the ssg codepointer and BAM! Its alot like a real shotgun, provided you replace the sound...). I want to keep most of the normal weapons, they fit the best with my theme, wich is, of course, a doom kind of theme. :) :P

I quote: "No New Weapons Is One Of The Deadly Sins!". Oh well, I guess you have SOME new weapons so you're in the clear....

But seriously I'm getting tired of playing with the same old Doom weapons. The more new weapons/monsters the better....
