Doom levels with screamers?
Doom levels with screamers?
Has anyone built a Doom level (most likely ZDoom) that plays like any other Doom level, but seldomly and randomly plays a screamer in player's face, without any warning from the text file? I don't mean the occasional effects from Ghoul's Forest, or even the Ghoul-like behavior. I just mean classic screamers inserted into general-gameplay wads, for lulz [but otherwise remarkable levels].

I should take this moment to say that I actually really liked Spacedie.wad (also a Cutmanmike creation, if I recall). No monsters through the entire map. Just weapons. Then you get into the bottom area of the level, begin seeing a bunch of Alien-like green slimy walls...then the xenomorph jumps out at you.
Nothing's quite as terrifying as LOSING that thing and not knowing where he went.

Oh yes, it's great on multiplayer survival. If I ever make another horror WAD it'll be in space like that one, only replace DEHACKED with some DECORATE and ACS love.wildweasel wrote:I should take this moment to say that I actually really liked Spacedie.wad (also a Cutmanmike creation, if I recall). Umm I don't think I have it uploaded anywhere now but I can upload after work it if no one else has it lying around? It may need editing, when I tried it last it crashed Zdoom on boot up but it might be fixed now.

Spacedie.wad
It runs with the latest ZDoom SVN and the latest official GZDoom.
The music doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's scripted to run at a certain time or event.

Ah there it is. I hate that bloody alien, even though it's just a demon with an increased moving and attacking speed.
