My computer is one month old, its processor is certainly fast enough (P4 3.2 GHz), I have 512MB RAM and aside from some resource wasting game absolutely no need to upgrade and have replaced the graphics card with a Geforce FX5900XT with 128MB RAM. It cost €150 and I really have no need to spend twice as much or more on a graphics card. I had to wait long enough until prices for decent cards dropped to a level that's worth it.

Are you super-poor or something? 1MB RAM is even considered horrible in the early days of DOS :!:
I should be able to run doom3, hey, I can run legacy and jdoom, right?
A computer needs this much power to run legacy/jdoom:

... I take it I'm the only one who noticed that this thread's topic actually has NOTHING to do with ZDoom.

Yes, it may be about another Doom game, but ZDoom is for Doom 1 & 2, NOT Doom 3.

Soooooooo What? And anyways, if you think 11-dimensionally, ZDooM is focused all around DooM 3. (Please dont ask me describe why...)

I just thought it was ironic that HotWax would start a thread that has nothing to do with ZDoom after having made that post in the Dodgeball thread.

1600 smackeroos going into my new computer... I'll be eating rice for quite a while. I'm having trouble figuring out how I'm going to set up these 7.1 speakers... not a big area where I use my computer. I'm gonna make some ghetto speaker stands with broom sticks and bricks... no joke whatsoever. And mount 2 speakers on my chair... As long as I get the surround sound effect, I'm happy.

Just take your t.v. out of your living room and put your computer there. :P

If you can't see the difference between a post about Doom and a post about a completely non-Doom-related movie, then I pity you.

Doom 3 isn't ZDoom.

A Geforce FX5900XT can be yours for ca. $150 and a 6800 for $400 and up. It's up to you to decide whether it's worth it.

How should i decide which one's worth it? Any-many-miny-moe? A game of rock paper scissors against other ppl and each one represents a choice (FX5900XT, 6800, or keep your money)?
