KDiZD had some pretty tough monsters... Surprisingly, the final boss is not one of 'em.

Not to self-promote for the sake of it, but I was actually surprised that he's actually a bit of a challenge when you play with Psychic. The guns are only so powerful and you have to stop often and wait for your PSI to recharge, so you wind up dodging a lot of attacks and lost souls in the process. Admittedly, I decided not to be cheap and just buy an Overcharge, but as long as you refrain from the weapon purchasing, it's a pretty fun battle.

But yeah, any time there's a Rifle involved, Mr. Mantis is toast in under a minute. :P

Mmm. Shores of ZDoom's gonna have to be good, to fix what KDiZD suffered from. When'll it be out, tough? Jeez.

Encountered an Annihilator (the one who can shoot guided missiles) on MAP30 of congestion 1024. The guided missiles part does take the piss a bit! :?
It just happened he warped in along with the baron replacements, which were 2 bruisers, 2 pyrodemons, 1 cyberbaron and a terminator

I think my playing skills increased 10 fold just getting past that part... only to encounter the final battle.

point blank & acccurate bfg shots are a must if possible.

I don't know, really. Don't have that many mods. but while messing about with DECORATE, i did manage to create a Cyberdemon with 25000 Health points who shoots 35 times a second... using a bfg.

Yeah but it doesn't really count unless it appears in a mod where the monster is actually defeatable. Anybody can open up DECORATE and create another Insanity Spider (I think that's what it's called, in Lost Soulsphere), but it's just insanely overpowered and ludicrous unless the gameplay dynamics have changed to level out the playing field (i.e. by giving the player equally overpowered and ludicrous weapons).

Is not one of the "most difficult monsters to deal with", but they drive me insane every once in a while: Catharsi. They're ok in general, but my complaint is the "floating grenade" they leave around when killed. Damn, those things always end up stopping me to avoid taking damage from them.

Eh, I just push the grenade away with a weapon then hide somewhere.

I hate those too, they fucking killed me twice in ZPack E1M7. It doesn't help that they don't look Doomy at all. They look more like Star Wars.

For some reason they never really did bother me in anything i played. Yeah the gernade was annoying but it wasnt anything that murdered me. I am developing a newfound and even bigger hatred for thamuz though. Not only that Molloch is a little bit freaky considering a good portion of its moves can completly obliterate you.

Yeah he is pretty nasty, and the thing that killed me was his death attack. That and the enhanced hellsmith move is what got me when hes alive. I really do like the monster alot though, really hope to see this in a level real soon!
