+FORCEXYBILLBOARD Problem

Post by Amuscaria »

The flag doesn't seem to be working in the newer versions, or at least a lot differently than before. In the old version, the sprite just faced you, now they seem to flip and rotate around, and become flat if you need straight up at them.

This is what it should look like, and does at some angles (player angle)

This is what happens when you look a different way.

This is also true if you have the GL billboarding option set to X/Y billboardinhg. Every sprite spins around when your pitch changes. Tall torches look freaky.

Shouldn't this be reported at the Gzdoom forums?

@Graf: Would you mind if I were to quote this post of yours in the future? There seem to be an excess of retorts posted when people talk about something GZDoom related here, and it would be good to point out the official stance when it comes to bug reports, at least.

Honestly, I see the two ports as being so similar in their inner workings that I see no reason why GZDoom talk shouldn't be allowed here as well (or vice-versa, really). Saves one less forum log-in, at least.

I really don't care. But this is the ZDoom forum after all so it's not the correct place. So please post the reports at the forums where they belong. That goes in particular for bugs I can't fix right away.

In that case, never mind. Your previous post gave the impression that it made no difference either way, though now you're saying it does. All I can derive from that is "yesno", which (as some older members may recall) is not a particularly useful answer. :P

Sorry, but it's all I can say. I'll handle any GZDoom bug posted here if possible but I just can't guarantee that Randy moves them due to [not ZDoom].

And I'd also like to add, if you have a problem accessing the DRD forums, please contact me. I really would like to see people use them more, especially with something like a GZDoom-specific bug report.
