As I understand it, Iranians identify themselves as Persians rather than Arabs, especially since the former Persian empire was seated where Iran is today, at least if I remember my history right.

Edit:
Typing Persia in Wikipedia confirms this, as you are taken to the article on Iran.

Yes. But it isn't called 'Persia'. Somebody from South West Texas isn't going to look at a jumble of letters and make the cultural connection that przn means Persian.

tejas.

It's no different than someone who identifies themself as asian, even though there is no country called Asia. I don't see any reason to argue over his name or what region he identifies himself as.

While I honestly thought przn stood for "prison", my point still stands.

Asia is called 'Asia' by Westerners, plus Asia is a continent, so that's not really the same.

And I wasn't arguing with him, I was saying why some of us didn't have the slightest clue he was Iranian.

And your mistake causes my point to stand. ;)

I thought your "persian cat" comment was kind of mean, but then it's really Przn's issue if that offends him.

Yeah, "przn" wasn't as obvious as you thought it would be. Could have been "Parisian Doom" just as well! :P

For the same reason the Turks don't identify themselves as Arabs: because they aren't Arabs.

To say nothing about the people who identify themselves as Americans, even though there is no country called America. :P

Ah, I didn't mean for it to be offensive. I just meant that a Persian Cat, rather than Przndoom, who is actually Persian, would be a more familiar concept to me. And again, my cultural views would have me first believe przn is Cat-Typing. It was a doubled-up statement.

EDIT: And if you are offended przn, I'm real sorry. I did NOT mean to cause offense. You can make a comment about Texans all riding horses. :P

I understand that, but some people lump people in that region and of the muslim faith as Arabs. It's a pretty common misconception here in the states, along with the stereotype that only muslims wear turbans.

That's understandable. It's hard for me to gleam tone and intent on the internet sometimes. :)

Need I remind you all that this is a WIP thread, not a discussion about politics, religion, and geographical vernacular. I'll be trashing any further posts on the subject - feel free to take it to off-topic, if you feel you can be civilized about it.

Could you split the topic away, then, instead of killing the line of discussion?

Crystal clear Weasel. :D
When was the last time i said a meme lol? *EDIT* I just realized I still had that gentlemen thing, when that fad went away I thought to change it it was me and PDF and....1 other person who had a spy thing. but in the past i do admit I was a bit, immature.
I chose this name just to ask a "how to.." question on zdoom/skulltag forums. I never thought about attempting to mod/contribute anything.
and I like the cat, looks angry all the time though, creeps me out. lol...horses are cool! As a child I always wanted to be like lucky luke .

To break this awkward ice.

Something cheap to look forward to:

Reminds me of John carmacks wife's game for the DS...lol

Looks really good, one question, is the wall and floor going to be the same?
(after further examination, their different...my bad)

YAY. Blasphemer is such a cool project. I really should make a completely new level for it.

Like USA? :P (unless your reply was a sarcasm I couldn't get...)

Really like the Blasphemer pic. Looks better, less rainbowy than original Heretic. I think I'll use that statusbar in any Heretic project I might try, if the policy allows. Looks both gothic AND reminescent of classic dungeon games.
