I abbreviate things b/c it's convenient; y dont u get a thesaurus and look up the longest synonym for every word if u care so much
And I'm just stating the point that I started this thread to ask for help, and don't want it to turn into ppl discussing something else... you can always make your own thread for that.

It's not much of a gain to type "U" instead of "You". And you only save about 4 letters typing "b/c" instead of "because". Why bother abbreviating things if it takes 4 whole keypresses (Dear God, 4 KEYS?! Whatever shall I do?!) to spell out the whole word? It's less annoying, and you'd be more likely to gain people's respect then if you continued acting like a 12-year-old AOL-using girl from Wisconsin. (LOL. a/sl/?)
