You need to go to http://sl4.poned.com/carp/ first. I dosn't seem to like offsite picture viewing.

:O Now i have a new game to kill my time with. Actually, it's really entertaining! The simplicity of graphics, the cool features (like inventory) and some RPG elements, makes me love this game. I could play this for hours, without getting bored. ;)

I tried to play that, but I just couldn't stand the gameplay(and by that I mean fighting monsters) of it. The RPG concept is awesome and I love the ASCII part of it.

Why? I found it rather challenging, and fun. I mean, you have to take cover and reload and stuff, oh wait. Did you move slowly or fast? cause this is a turn-based game, so if you hold the movement buttons you get owned by the enemies in a few miliseconds.

...Heh. I would hold down the button and when something shot at me I would automatically keep going. Now that I'm not playing a turn based game as a real time one, it's rather entertaining. :P

Try this, and you will change your mind:

1.- LambdaRoge: for those who need some graphics, more than only ASCII characters: http://donick.net/lambdarogue.html. Very good RogeLike, but too much simple. It works on Linux and Windows

2.- ADOM: actually, one of the best RogeLike, with no SDL or any other kind of graphics, only ASCII characters, but much more complex and much more game features: http://www.adom.de. Works on Linux. Not tested on Windows.
This is the game that i am playing on my free moments.

3.- Dungeon Dweller: a RogeLike game for mobile phones. Quite simple, but really entertaining one. Gives funny moments if you have more than half an hour of underground travel from home to job. It runs over all moviles listed in that webpage, and also over Nokia 6103 (that's my movile, and i have already tested ). http://www.roguelikedevelopment.org/dwellerWorks only on Mobile Phones.

If you have played Net Hack once, maybe you have found a monster called "Elemental Chaos". Have you found?
If not, you don't be able to kill or survive just "holding the button pressed". 8-)

Graf and Randy managed to up the lighting system a lot: it now supports HDR under OpenGL, and even a nice faked effect in software mode. However the software mode doesn't work too well since the limited palette poses some problems:
