[DECORATE] Being not limited to "One Tick" Interva

Post by KeksDose »

I think it would be a quite nice feature to have the feature to make the tic intervals in Decorate shorter than 1. It would definitely help with effects (like strong particle spawner) and with other special things. See, with an interval shorter than "1" we could make a perfect laser, the actors spawned wouldn't have these "holes", where an actor should be.

Image--Laser?

So, it's up to you now.

Sorry, but a 'tic' is the smallest unit in which the engine works. It can't be split.

Can't you make a duration 0?

Setting it to "0" and looping it would just kill and crash the game :/ It would loop it infinite times, in 0 tics, this causes the engine to crash (overflow?).
The engine can't handle such a thing, and when I tried this a few *ahem* moments before I could only barely escape the game. Sometimes I even have to restart =/

Actually, there's a dummy projectile, which moves across the map at "warp-speed" and spawns a "laser actor" every tic, but since a "tic" is the most shortest interval in this engine it's impossible to simulate a perfect beam without...*hax* =/
