A thought on movebob and player's speed.

Post by Nash »

This got to me while I was playing LWM's HQuest.

In HQuest, the player's speed is reduced - you run really slow. However, since movebob is saved to the user's settings, your view bobs without taking into account the player's speed.

This creates a very unnatural feeling, and sometimes annoying too. I find it really funny in HQuest that although I'm moving slowly, I'm jumping up and down like a drunk person. I then had to open the console and temporarily change the movebob to a more logical value. I couldn't stand it otherwise; I just get so dizzy.

This isn't a feature request or anything, but what do you all think? Maybe the movebob value should be tied to the player's speed or something? Or maybe there's another solution. Any comments?

I think that the MAGNITUDE of the movebob should be able to be set via ACS, thus letting it keep pace with the player speed.

Whether movebob is active or not should remain a user setting.
