Noob question about joining

Post by noobxorz »

When I try to do -join (I.P. adress) zdoom says that the command is unkown. Am I supposed to type in something else or type it in somewhere else besides the console? any help would be much appreciative. Thanks in advance.

You need to put it on the command line when you start ZDoom.

I did it at the title picture if thats what what you mean, and it still says join is an unknown command. Am I not supposed to be in the console?

Nope, you don't do any of that in the console. You have to put those multiplayer command line arguments in the command line. If you are just double-clicking on zdoom.exe, you can't input anything. One way to go is to right click zdoom.exe and "make shortcut". Then, right click the shortcut, select "Properties" and add the needed commands to the "Target". You should see something like "C:\blah\zdoom.exe". Put a space after .exe, then add -join (name or IP) -deathmatch -whatever.
