Recommend good Co-op ZDoom wads.

Discuss anything ZDoom-related that doesn't fall into one of the other categories.

Recommend good Co-op ZDoom wads.

Seriously, I can't find a single decent one. I was going to try Tormentor's TNT things but all of them are single only. Even Neodoom doesn't work right with it (or at all for that matter) Any suggestions?

Thats about the only good wad for Co-Op thats ZDoom specific. Some wad maker is probably going to make a post prattling about how they designed their wad with Co-Op in mind but from a gameplay standpoint it is most likely going to be untrue.

Oh yeah. Back a while ago a few #DMClub'rs were playing some of your platform wads in Co-Op. I doubt however thats what you are looking for.

One more thing: DO-TIMS is awesome for Co-Op.

Take the 'Z' out the title and I believe you won't have a problem finding good co-op maps anymore. :P

I concur, but I guess it's going to vary from person to person. I prefer to play co-op with my friends, but it isn't some kind of weekly event or anything. There's enough inbetween time that we can cycle through all the iwads, along with some additional megawads like Alien Vendetta, that by the time we've been through them all the first one is fresh again (to give reference: it would probably be about over a year later by the time we've gotten back to the first one.)

Now that ZDoom has the replaces feature in DECORATE, you can also play through the original iwads with different weapons and monsters, etc. I've almost finished a personal little pk3 that basically just takes the monsters I like from the monster resource wad and with some controlled randomness, replaces the original monsters with one of the custom ones which are about the same level of difficulty.

Oh........ and there's this...... I uh..... I don't know if it works with later versions of ZDoom....... and I'm not too proud of the sloppy output.................. but it still cracks me up.

Well, actually, I could make Primary into a co-op map, and since it's so big, it should play well.

Some of Kurt Kesler's maps are supposed to be fun in co-op; I've particularly heard good things about KZDoom1. He also co-authored a wad specifically intended for co-op, but unfortunately I can't remember what it was called nor whether it was ZDoom-specific.

Unless the wad you mentioned isn't in the archives, then you are most likely thinking of Frenzy DM which, as the name suggests, is designed for DM and not Co-Op.

This is something that will be changed for UTNT :) And as Belial suggested: ZDCMP1R plays very well in Coop :)

Yes it was well worth it. Big levels like that NEED a "checkpoint" system like that.
