Yeah, exactly! In fact that's probably even a better set up than I would have established. :)

And TBH, I think that way would be far more navigable than hilighting.

SlayeR: Trying to compile SLumpEd 0.4 under linux gave me the following.
Spoiler: 'make' Output
There is no FreeImage.h in the sources zip you provided. I installed FreeImage 3.9.1 and did a 'make install' for it after the first time I got the above output, but it didn't change anything. Below is the modified version of Jim's SLADE Makefile I'm using.
Spoiler: Temporary SLumpEd Makefile

Is there a jump tutorial yet?

On topic: I think I need to download this new editor and try it out. I daresay Slaeyer could gun for DeePsea if he released a suite of his programs...

I'm pretty sure SlayeR has already stated that he wants to keep SLADE and SLumpEd as separate, stand-alone applications.
It's better to have individual applications whole-assing individual tasks than a multi-purpose application half-assing multiple tasks. ;)

I think I'd download all of the installers together at some point. By suite I would mean something like how Jasc manages its seperate programs- you can launch one program from another. I don't think Slayer would ever have to merge everything into one SLeeT program... or would that be SL33T... to get the suite effect.

Slayer, is there any way to get SLumpEd to not automatically generate slumped.log?

Nope, just been working on SLADE lately. I got gfx conversion and sound/music previews going, just want to get TEXTUREx editing working properly before the next release.

Could you quickly add shortcut keys if it's not too much trouble? If not that's okay, I could do with sound previews anyways.

Maybe it's just me, but the toolbar buttons don't always work. Even after clicking "Save all", it still asks if I want to saved the edited lump, then the wad.

That's because save all saves all the wads, but not the lumps that are open.

Well here's v0.5 beta1. It's beta because I haven't tested all the new features thoroughly, but they should work fine. Anyway if there aren't any huge problems with them I'll release the full v0.5 once I've added a couple of other minor things.

New stuff:

Code: Select all

 - TEXTUREx lump editing
 - Sound and Music preview (doom sound, wav, mus, mid, it, xm, s3m)
 - Conversion between different gfx formats
Doesn't look like much there, but it is :P

Anyway the files:
SLumpEd v0.5 beta1 Binaries
SLumpEd v0.5 Source

Not yet, unfortunately it's a bit harder to do than I thought. I'll try to get them in for 0.5 though.
