MMORPGs are like cults...
WoW is a plot by Blizzard to take over the world I tell you. They've got subliminal messages encoded into each server, soon you shall all be slaves to Blizzard.net bwahahahaaaaa

or maybe not

i can attest that MMORPGs are the devil incarnate. i played one once, and it wasn't even very good looking nor advanced, but it was addictive as crap. I quit like 3 times before actually quitting..yeesh.. i will never again play one, i fear for my safety

Crap isn't very addictive you know, and if it is.... well *cough cough* ;)

But that is my point exactly, I don't want to start playing them because I know how addictive they are and for that reason they are teh_devil.

hehe, although I do find it very ironic that people playing a game as old as Doom are complaining that other games are too addictive for your own good.

Well, the community builds are here to ease the pain.

I'm just hoping the next Zdoom comes out (unofficial or not) before Aug. 30, when school starts here. >:(

Um, most of us have lives outside of Doom. I like other old FPS games a lot, am a large Final Fantasy fanboy, party many nights of the week (my social life), and know more things about The Dark Tower than most people. Doom is just the only online community I'm a part of.

I basically live Doom, but that's mostly because I'm still going to school which hasn't started yet and even then, I spend almost all my time on the computer. I do like a few TV shows and I do play my consoles every once in a while.

Same, except I'm starting to enjoy tricking...(Handstands, flips, etc). I'm starting to move away from my beloved computer, even though my end career is most likely going to be a game programmer of some sort. Of course, fail that, I'm learning guitar so I can get a band. :P
