I don't think so. My statement is clearly just an opinion, while you were trying with all means to make yours look like a scientific fact with shit like 'It's normal' and 'Psychological analysis'.shaviro wrote:I think you contradict yourself right there by drawing that jealousy conclusion.
Agreed.Nmn wrote:It's only a shame the thread in memory of LWM had to be polluted by 3 faggots who dislike boobs.

ON TOPIC: I just played the wad. I must say it's.. really effing (no f word?
) wierd, and rather stupid. Definitely not the best thing I've seen LilWhiteMouse make (that would probably have to go towards Wolfen, which managed to make Hexen entertaining for more than 5 seconds). Why the hell does the thing need to be one level? That just makes things very boring, and I'm sure using scripts to retexture the entire map is not only pointless, but way more work than it is worth. I'm not particularly fond of the whole theme of everything (omg go around shooting half-naked nuns), either.
Feel free to flame me because I don't like it, but I just don't find it very good. Quite possibly there is room for improvement in the future, but the lack of any variety just makes this very dull.

Noone here will flame you for your opinion, but I disagree with the weird and stupid part. If you don't like the theme then why did you play it in the first place, you knew what it was going to be like.
I liked the one-map thing, it gave the wad an oldschool 'arena fighting game' feel, with the bosses getting harder and harder. Only thing that needs work ATM is the item management as weapon availability is quite random, depends on what you get from dead enemies.
Bear in mind that this is an unfinished project.

I agree completely with AgentSpork. The effort is in this case (and in my opinion) greater than the gain.
Belial: And please do not try to explain your hostility with such dribble. Truth is neither of us stated it as an opinion, but as a fact. The only difference is I tried to elaborate my thoughts.
You can agree or not, there is no need to become so inimical.

I suspect it was an experiment to see what can be done, to see what's possible, to see how easy it is to do and how it would turn out. If any of those questions are answered (good or bad) then the exercise is worthwhile IMO. I strongly suspect that the experiment of doing it on one map was one of the main reasons for doing the project in the first place. LWM also said before somewhere that mapping wasn't her favourite part of modding and that she "burned out" quite quickly when mapping. So perhaps she found making one map and then modifying it via scripting more fun to do.AgentSpork wrote:Why the hell does the thing need to be one level?
As for you not liking other aspects of it. So be it. That's all down to personal taste. I personally like it a lot. I think the theme is unusual, the scripting innovative, the spritework very good (I like hi-res sprite mods, and I like her style) and overall I find it an interesting, fun and original mod.
As for my favourite LWM project, I think I'd still go for Chosen. Lywren may have rated higher if it had been brought nearer to completion and crushed was very good, but suffered from lack of completion too (even more so). I agree that Wolfen was very good and (finally) showed us what Hexen should be like.

Then why didn't she team up with a mapper?
Yeah I agree it's pretty good. Not totally agree on the sprite work being THAT good. It's ok. But when it comes to sprites in wads I've learnt to not be picky.
As for the scripting involved, I dunno. the things I saw in it was mainly simple replace texture scripting. Some fake 3d illusion. Actually the thing that I found most impressive was the tilted faked 3d floors on the outside of the temple or whatever it was. Unfortunately it was ruined by the bad texture alignment at the ends of it.
But I also agree when shaviro said it was being hyperboled (with a dash of testosterone).
Nmn and pack: It was actually not me neither shaviro or manc who started that whole shit.

Bullshit. Page 7. First it's shaviro, then manc and finally your blunt explanation of shav's post. The rest is our reaction to your posts.Kristus wrote:Nmn and pack: It was actually not me neither shaviro or manc who started that whole shit.
Shaviro's comment was perfectly on topic as it was a comment on how he perceived the extreme hype over this wad, and since my previous comment on how I didn't agree on how amazing the wad was it was even more justified as an addition to the discussion.
Manc's comment was directed at an rather absurd comment previously made in the thread.
My comment was an explanation on what shaviro said that people expressed confusion over. The fact that these forums are run by people like Tormentor that post threads of dildos didn't give me any reason to be beating around the bush on the underlying meaning of the statement. Yes it was blunt, but what do you care considering what autrocities that goes on daily on this forum anyways. Actually the first comment that had nothing to do with the thread was the one made by Ellmo where he claimed I was a child. For whatever reason he had to claim that he still haven't told anyone.
And from that the whole thing just got stupified.

Sorry, didn't notice anything extreme about the 'hype' the wad was supposedly getting. Balanced comments, that's all.Kristus wrote:extreme hype
And his comment was completely unnecessary at that point.Kristus wrote:Manc's comment was directed at an rather absurd comment previously made in the thread.

Where the hell did you get the idea that Torm was running the forums

Anyways, holding that single thread against him is childish

What atrocities? You must mean the Doomworld forums

Nope, shav's was the first one, manc's was second, and ellmo's was just the first response to your posts (actually, to your explanation).Kristus wrote:Actually the first comment that had nothing to do with the thread was the one made by Ellmo where he claimed I was a child.
